Crime Guns

No, not ‘gun crimes.’ ‘Crime guns.’ Lots of guns used in crimes come from Georgia.

Georgia exported 2,781 guns recovered in connection with crimes in other states. That put Georgia atop a list of “exporters” of “crime guns” in 2009. Adjusting for population, Georgia ranked 10th, exporting 28.3 guns per 100,000 inhabitants.

The top 10 “crime gun” states made up 48.8% of guns used in crimes.
The top 10 “crime gun” states make up 46.4% of the US population.

They do mention in their data that some of the guns were stolen(though this doesn’t make it into the news stories), and yet that translates to lax gun laws somehow.

And before I forget, why are so many of the anti-gun mayors criminals themselves. http://www.examiner.com/gun-rights-in-national/why-are-so-many-anti-gun-mayors-criminals#comment-11859621

One lesson I stress is if you own a firearm, write the serial number down. Because if it’s stolen this is about the only way to hopefully get it back.

This is great news. The Georgia Legislature needs to pass a tax break for gun stores so we can encourage more stores to open here.
