Well, Dale, say what you want about that king roy feller, but ol’ nathan deal’s slippery as a bag of snakes…

I’m glad the campaign’s are now less about “who hates gays more” and more about “who is folksier.” Progress…

    All hat and no cattle.

Just another slick salesman selling hocum to a bunch of rubes. See Sarah Palin, Christine O’Donnell.

I said in the other thread: “I love the iconography this guy represents. This is us yokels in flyover country sticking a thumb in the eye of Big City Elitists everywhere.”

I submit Progressive Dem’s reply above as Exhibit A. Why don’t you hop in your Volvo and head on down to Starbucks so you can buy yourself a Latte to sip on. Us yokels in flyover country will be cleaning our guns getting ready for hunting season.

(I actually like Volvos, but shhhh…. don’t tell anyone. I don’t want to get kicked out of the yahoos in flyover country club. But I do choose to get my caffeine fix from Mountain Dew so I think I’m still alright.)

I know a backbench State Senator / “Community Organizer,” still trying to figure out where the US Capitol bathrooms were located, who was elected President by repeating inane platitudes. He’s got all the others beat and might be one of the greatest salesmen since PT Barnum.

Is this what political campaigns have sunk to??? This guy is the antithesis of what I want my country to be about. His shameful hate mongering has no place in our state…keep it in AL. We are a little bit more sophisticated here in GA…well in Atlanta at least

I submit Scott65’s reply above as Exhibit B. What did he say that could even be remotely classified as “shameful hate mongering?” You are viscerally reacting to the imagery/iconography, not what was actually said.

“keep it in AL. We are a little bit more sophisticated here in GA…well in Atlanta at least”

That says all that ever needs to be said. What would the “sophisticated” condescendimng Elitists set do with themselves if they didn’t have us flyover country yokels to look down their noses at and make themselves feel all morally superior inside?

Why don’t you hop in your Volvo and join Progressive Dem for a Latte?

I said it yesterday, I’ll say it again. Why should we care what a failed candidate for “ag commish” thinks about a gubernatorial race in Georgia?

    1) He doesn’t even live here. I’d argue that Roy Barnes gives more of a rip about Georgia than Dale Peterson does.

    2) The people of Alabama, Alabama!!!!!, thought this guy was full of such BS they didn’t vote for him. What would it say about us if we were stupid enough to listen to him?

    3) I think this is some backdoor ploy by the state of Alabama. They want Deal elected so they can keep stealing our water.

    4) He’s just a collection of catch phrases: King Roy, thugs and criminals, sounds like the president, ambulance chaser. Who does the RGA hire to write their commercials?

    5) The last GOP front runner that had heavy support from Alabama fell flat on his face when election day rolled around.

  5. GOPwits says:

Krusty the Klown is going to be coming out to endorse Deal soon. I also heard that Big Bird might swoop in and offer his help.

Deal’s web of lies and ethical shortcomings have resulted in pop culture “characters” having to be the ones touting Deal.

Ol’ Dale might want to hold on to that gun because if he’s not careful, Deal might steal it and pawn it to pay off his debts.

  6. Red Phillips says:

Ha ha! I’ve got you Elitist snobs pegged to a T, and all your carrying on these threads is just proving my case. Read it and weep Latte Sippers.

Below I wrote, “I love the iconography this guy represents. This is us yokels in flyover country sticking a thumb in the eye of Big City Elitists everywhere.”

For proof that Dale Peterson’s appeal is all about this yokel vs. elitist divide, take a look at these threads.

Here and here. (Links to these two Peach Pundit threads)

The reaction against Peterson from some of the commenters is palpably visceral, all out of proportion to the actual content of what is being said. (As is admittedly the reaction in favor of him.) But he really isn’t saying anything different than what any suit wearing conservative talking head on Fox News would say.

To the Elites, Dale Peterson represents the people who shouldn’t be heard from and who should just wait around for marching orders from their Elitist betters. But the yokels are getting uppity, and it both frightens and revulses them.

      Roy Barnes, over $500 p/hr,
      Nathan Deal, +/-$800,000
      “flyover country’, priceless.

      3) I think this is some backdoor ploy by the state of Alabama. They want Deal elected so they can keep stealing our water.

Deal probably pre-sold it to them to pay off his debts. 😉
