Ah . . . Local Government

This is humorous.

County commissioners said Tuesday that they would ask residents who live on and near Lustful Court to consider a petition to change the name. The road, a few links from Jeffersonville Road in east Bibb County, dates back at least four decades.

Sodomy Drive, anyone?

I wonder what the Bibb County Commission would say about this northern Austrian village.

I wonder what the Bibb County Commission would have to say about the northern Austrian village of F–king.

Unfortunately, there is a “Jim Crow” road in Gainesville, GA. I always thought they should change that one.

While you’re at it, don’t you think it’s inappropriate for one of your hospitals to be located on Hemlock Street?

How many massage parlors do you frequent on Lustful Court?

And allegedly, its the government’s closest to the people that govern the most effectively.

Just call it Easy Street. Everyone wants to live there.

40 years ago, “lustful” did not have the overwhelming sexual connotation it does today. Think of the phrase “lust for life”, which shows the archaic definition of lustful as “vigorous”.

Joshua, there is an “Easy Street” just south of Albany on GA 300. It is a street to a low-rent trailer park.

Much like how American society has taken “Easy Street” to low rent morals and dumbing down the American English language.

I use to live in a city with an Easy Street. It was in an awful ugly decaying industrial area. Nothing around there looked easy. Perhaps it should have been named Ruin Road instead.

It appears that Bibb County residents are so satisfied with County government that Commissioners are looking for things to do.
