Panthers Win

Good job.

They came. They saw. And, to borrow from their new fight song, the Georgia State Panthers gave them hell.

I was surprised by the huge crowd last night. I was at CNN and there was a wave of blue shirts. Impressive for the first year.

  1. View from Brookhaven says:

I wasn’t anticipating 30K showing up. Nobody was, not even the coaches, AD, or President. Still, everything went off as planned and I think exceeded everybody’s expectations.

Hopefully the product (on field and off) is enough to keep a decent number of them coming back.

  2. Andre says:

Great first win for the Panthers!

The game that excites me the most is the season finale against the defending National Champion Alabama Crimson Tide. That should tell us all we need to know about whether GSU can make it in NCAA football bowl subdivision.

    And. . .

    . . .it’ll give the school’s young football program a little respect.

5 years, and GSU will make that transition into division I-A and be competing against the big teams for the spots in the big bowls.

    • B Balz says:

And a BIG THANK YOU to ‘Bama. Due, in large part, to the respect that Coach Curry brings to the table, the televised season finale may bring an estimated $800K to the Panthers.

      Roll Tide!!!!

It was a hoot last nite, everyone was in great spirits and the Shorter folks deserve a shout out for being good sports with all the hoopla about the Panthers.

  3. Obissister says:

We attended the game last night. It was a great crowd, much larger than we anticipated. Our son goes to Shorter. They had a good showing of people, but were just drowned out by the huge amount of noise.

Keep an eye on that GSU QB, Drew Little.
