Polls Closing Observations in Bibb County

I drove around today to the majority of polling precincts. Turnout was nonexistent. I voted around 6pm (I forgot all about it being runoff day). The polling ladies said it had been dead all day except lunch and even then not enough to cause a wait.

Surprisingly given how Atlanta oriented her campaign has seemed, the Handel campaign had fresh signs up at every polling location I went to. We have forty or so and I went to over twenty. There were signs at each one.

The Deal campaign had fresh signs out at all the majority Republican precincts, which actually seems like a better use of resources and time in a runoff.

No one I talked to had a sense of how anything was going to go except that turn out was going to be light.

How’d I vote?

Handel, Olens, Hudgens, and Douglas.

I took my mother to her polling place at an elementary school on the north side of Macon at approx. 2:30.

I think they had five voting machines, three people voting at the time, and six poll workers sitting around looking painfully bored.

I’m in Effingham county, around Springfield. Voted after work (about 5:30), I was voter #140 according to poll workers. PLENTY of Handel and McKinney signs on the road. Hope Karen gets it.
