Very sad news. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jordan Griner’s family and friends.
A woman with a blood-alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit ran a red light and killed an intern from the governor’s office early Saturday, Atlanta police said.
Gov. Sonny Perdue called the intern, Jordan Griner, 24, “a bright and shining star” in a statement released by his office Saturday afternoon.
Christa Scott, 26, was taken into custody after she ran a red light on West Peachtree and hit the driver’s side door of Griner’s car at 17th Street, police said.
Griner, an Augusta native and University of Georgia graduate, had been an intern in Perdue’s office for several months.
