GriftDrift Not Running For House District 82

His announcement is here.

After much consideration, I’ve decided to not run for House District 82.

Although I was overwhelmed by the support and encouragement of friends and family, it is just not the right time in my life to cross the fence from the land of the policy observers to the land of policy makers.

I wish whoever runs for the 82nd much luck and, of course, I’ll be watching closely.

As for the future. You’ll just have to wait and see.

I’m frankly disappointed, but certainly understand.

But I was really, really looking forward to the blogger juggernaut of Buzz Brockway and James “GriftDrift” Williams going down to the capitol and ‘splainin how the world works to a few folks. Now Buzz will just have to work twice as hard, I guess.

    Thanks, Mike, for the kind words.
    As of this past Friday, I have indeed filed the paperwork to run as an independent for House District 82 and am currently gathering the needed signatures to appear on the ballot. I invite you all to join my Facebook group and get involved with my campaign. We are working quickly to hit the ground running and hope to put out a press release, including endorsements, by the end of the week.

        Our goal is to submit a minimum of 3000 signatures, to make sure that enough will meet the Secretary of State’s requirements. We plan to be out there every weekend with our clipboards and could always use more volunteers to help us bring in those signatures!
