I’d be embarrassed to run for Congress and have such an unreadable website. Its hard to take any candidate seriously that can’t bother to even look professional.

      • ByteMe says:

You check out the people trying to run for John Lewis’ seat? Fenn’s site is a site-in-a-box.

        • kyleinatl says:

I actually know Kelly, she’s a smart, smart girl (not bad on the eyes either), but man…I’d say that seat is more blue than the 3rd district is red.

    • ricstewart says:

At the 8th district debate, she was asked what conditions there should be for giving foreign aid. She said we should get something in return and then grabbed the handmade beaded necklace around her neck and said, “like this handmade necklace” from a third-world country.
Hmmm….. internation aid vs. arts and crafts…..

      • polisavvy says:

Are you being serious? I met her once at a county GOP meeting. I tried to engage her in conversation but lost interest. Her answers were a bit strange.

        • ricstewart says:

That’s not even the wackiest part, but I’m not exactly at liberty to talk about the wackier side.

          • polisavvy says:

I get it. At first I thought it was just me; however, my husband and son felt the same way.

  1. ZazaPachulia says:

Thanks a lot Austin “Political Expediency” Scott.

As a Scott for governor supporter, I’m fuming.

    • polisavvy says:

As a Scott for Governor supporter, I am thrilled that this very bright and capable young man will be serving the citizens of this State in some capacity. You should be pleased, too.

  2. Red Phillips says:

It is too bad Hick’s is withdrawing. Not that I would have likely supported her, but having the insider establishment boys hand pick their nominee and then expect all the little peons to step aside isn’t exactly the way to foster a conservative revolution.

  3. Bill Mauldin says:

I have to give her complete credit that she and Jade were prepared to put up a good fight against Marshall that would have either reclaimed the seat for Conservatives, or softened it up enough for 2012. With Austin Scott there is no doubt that the seat will be reclaimed by the Republican Party this year. All that’s left is for Jim Marshall to pack his bags and make sure his pension is in order. Bye-bye Jim.

  4. Sarah Scott says:

Probably one of the classiest, if not the most classy thing I have ever seen in politics. I certainly hope that this is not the last time we see Ms. Hicks in a race.

I am very disappointed in Austin Scott.

  5. bartsimpsonisdaman says:

We’re not worthy, we’re not worthy.

Vote Barnes! He’s ugly as hell but aint dyslexic. Read today dumbass Scott thought he had been running for congress all along. He was quoted as saying when he filed “damn, I thought that district was outrageously long”. “All of those dumbass forums sitting there with that nappy headed dumbass oxendine, but hey the honies were cute.”

  6. TheCommonMan says:

Once again, the GAGOP fails us.
In a time where we need strong, conservative leaders to set an example to bring our country back, they send in a centrist masquerading as some kind of good ole boy.

    Shame on you, Austin.

    • Doug Grammer says:

I disagree. I think Rep. Scott, in his own way, took one for the team. The polls didn’t show much chance of him moving to W Paces Ferry Road Northwest, even if that’s what his heart may have wanted. I think he can win this seat and would do a good job if elected.

  7. Tyler says:

Angela was a great candidate. She entered the race on the premise that no one else would and should be commended for her service and self-sacrifice. She made the right decision here but should continue to remain active within politics. I thank her for standing up and voicing her opinion in the 8th. We need more sincere people like this to stand up and say “Enough is enough”.

    • Doug Grammer says:

I don’t think I’ve had the chance to meet Angela, and I know I haven’t talked too her since she announced. She seemed to be a good candidate. I would urge the Scott campaign to consider hiring Jade. (Jade, that’s your public character reference.)
