Westmoreland draws a Dem challenger?

Peanut Politics is reporting that “Frank Saunders (D-Midland) will make a run for the 3rd congressional District against Lynn Westmoreland (R-Grantville) in this fall’s elections.”

If Saunders is this Frank Saunders, then he is a coach for student sports within Chattahoochee County Public Schools.

Aw, come one, Icarus, at least if Congress decides to waste our tax dollars and time on anything else to do with baseball or football, he’d be able to lend great expertise.

Ball games, an original American contribution to world civilization, teach taking turns, time management, differentiation on the basis of skill and subordination to talent, rather than physical force — all useful characteristics in a democracy.

Nobody’s going to beat Lynn in the 3rd…

I’m pretty sure Lynn could have an affair with Michelle “Bombshell” McGee, get busted using steroids, accidentally shoot his hunting partner with buckshot, screw up the Ten Commandments on national television and still beat an injured Iraq war veteran Democrat in a landslide…

    Just sayin…

Best hope the Dems have of getting rid of Lynn is redrawing the district post-census.

Fortunately, elections are not gladiatorial contests, nor horse races. They’re a voter action and the electorate will decide. Of course, if there’s only one candidate for a job, there’s no choice. Which, apparently, is what some folks prefer.
You know who they are. They’re the people who always say at lunch, “I’ll have what you’re having,” and then complain when they don’t like it.

In related news, the Georgia State University football team has challenged the University of Alabama to a showdown in November as well…
