I’ve learned today that Gwinnett County Commissioner Mike Beaudreau has endorsed Rep. David Casas in his race to replace Don Balfour in Senate District 9. Earlier this week, former Gwinnett GOP Chairman Mike Royal and I also endorsed Casas:
LAWRENCEVILLE (Mar. 25, 2010) – State Rep. David Casas (R-Lawrenceville) candidate for the 9th District state Senate seat, added the support of two prominent Gwinnett Republican Party leaders to his campaign Tuesday. Former Gwinnett GOP chairmen Buzz Brockway and Mike Royal formally announced their endorsements of Casas’ Senate bid, touting his lengthy experience as a Gwinnett legislator and extensive track record supporting conservative values.
“In working with David over the years, I have come to know him as a devoted family man and dedicated public servant for the citizens he
represents,” said Brockway. “He is exactly what Gwinnett citizens need in a state Senator; someone who clearly understands the issues our community and state are facing and a strong voice that will effectively represent Gwinnett County in the Senate, just as he has for the last eight years in the House.”
“David’s proven commitment to conservative, free-market values will be an invaluable asset to getting Gwinnett and Georgia’s economy back on track,” said Royal. “He has consistently voted to lower the tax burdens on families and small business and to reduce the size of government, just what we need to create jobs and get people back to work. The state Senate will be very fortunate to have such a dedicated conservative like David making the right choices for our families and help Georgia’s economy grow and prosper.”
Casas faces Greg Howard in the Republican Primary.
