I know people who were scammed by fake census takers.
Forms for the 2010 U.S. Census won’t be mailed until March, but officials already are warning people to beware of potential scams.Georgia’s Better Business Bureau said Wednesday that a bogus e-mail in circulation claims it’s from the bureau and tells recipients to give census takers no more information than how many people live in the household.

All they are constitutionally entitled to are the number of people living in your home. NOTHING ELSE.
That is true.
However, they also use the census to reapportion funds to certain groups for certain activities. If you don’t let them count you properly, your “group” (whatever group you fall into) is under-counted and other groups will get more. So, go ahead and let them only count the number of people living in your home and then tell them to go away. Please.
