JB’s former campaign manager showed up at a meeting of the board of commission wanting the commission to buy land the manager and a partner owned. Butterworth and the commission said no. Jim would not help the guy who helped him get elected with a favor. Jim put the taxpayers first over his former campaign manager. Character is still alive in Atlanta

Guess we will just disagree on some things, but with a name like Homer Heretic disagreeing is sort of easy.

The most telling statement in a long time.

I think the public does want the truth. Sometimes, they’re just skeptical of the source at first.

Nobody like me could possibly get elected. The public can’t handle the truth nor can it handle the math.

This statement seems a little harsh. The heroes aren’t always the ones we hear about. I believe there are a few under the dome who really do fight for the right things, even though the odds are often against them.

Indy, you might consider running for a seat and seeing what criticism you receive after a few years in office. There will always be someone who will find something to criticize about the job you do.

You might want to check with a few people in Butterworth’s home county. Or, perhaps this I-Team segment will enlighten you. Butterworth is cut out of the same mold the GOP is trying desperately to purge.

Those two votes transferred the money of the many to the few.

I can emphatically state that he isn’t serving his constituents.

We have managed to make thugs rulers over us because no one stands up to their antics.

How did he vote on SB31?

How did he vote on transferring nearly all property taxes onto homeowners from large landowners?

If he voted for those 2 things, I would be very wary of the guy.

We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other.

If we don’t get back to being moral soon in a truly transformational sense, we are looking straight at collapse and anarchy. That is what is so hideously ruinous about avoiding the truth in the financial crisis via bailouts. These practices are working to make fools and destitute of the moral in order to enrich fraudsters. You cannot punish the good and reward the evil without ripping asunder the moral fabric holding society together.
