Cool use of Google maps.

11Alive has created a Google map showing the results in the Atlanta Mayor’s race. They’re color coded to show which precincts are for Norwood, which for Reed, and which ones have not reported yet. Very cool.

So based on trends and geography, Reed wins this one easily. Congrats to you Senator Mayor-Elect

I wonder if they still think runoffs are racist?

It looks like it will depend on how many voters showed up at each precinct. If lots showed at in Buckhead while small numbers in the rest of the city, she could pull it out. The percentage gap has narrowed quite a bit in the last fifteen minutes.

Curiously enough the DeKalb County precincts are not included.

Channel 11 probably has just a single staffer sitting in the Futon County election office doing the updating. Wonder how DeKalb will turn out with so much gentrification but much of it by those who aren’t really part of the Buckhead establishment.

AJC is reporting the 9 DeKalb precincts went to Norwood 51%-49%, separated by less than 100 votes. Haven’t been able to find vote totals, though.

Norwood’s lead has fallen into a Kasim.

Doug wins the Pun of the Day Award.

With 100% of the precincts reporting, it looks like Kasim Reed has won though the AJC and WXIA are reporting different totals even with both claiming 100% of the votes.

The lead is pretty slim… could there be enough absentee ballots to keep this one from being decided tonight?
