See, good things can happen to people who attend Peach Pundit Happy Hour gatherings.

Good Luck Caesar. We’re still pulling for you. It will be quite a thankless job with budget/revenue issues a major issue for a while.

It won’t always be easy, but keep on smiling. The city will need the optimism.

UPDATED: Statement by Caesar Mitchell:

“Tonight, I am humbled and gratified by the overwhelming support the Atlanta electorate has demonstrated by electing me their next City Council President. Though today marks the end of a long campaign, it also marks the beginning of a new era – an era that requires each and every one of us to make Atlanta better and stronger. I am excited and energized about providing the leadership and unification our city needs. Atlanta is where I was born, raised and educated. I am committed to making it safe, clean, green and thriving.

I would like to thank my opponent Clair Muller for running a strong race. I have tremendous respect for Clair and want to salute her for her many years of service to our city.

I look forward to working with the next mayor, the City Council and our entire community to help propel Atlanta into the world-class 21st century city it is truly destined to be.”
