Ding Dong

Good riddance.

Fifteen minutes ended nearly 15 years of waiting Tuesday night when a pair of doctors in white coats said the lethal injection of three deadly chemicals into the arms of convicted murderer Mark McClain had stopped his heart.

      What do you mean “finally”? That’s been known for a long time. A quick Google and you’ll see analysis on it going back 15 years.

      It’s not about the money. It’s all about “an eye for an eye” biblical-style vengeance.

          The moderates aren’t in charge here.

          Personally, I’d be ok with the death penalty if it was taken out of the hands of the counties and put into the hands of the state’s attorney’s office. With indigent defense costs for it coming out of the state budget instead of a county’s woeful budget.

        Yup. It’s not about the money, and it’s not a deterrent. It’s all about feeling better.

        And conservatives blame liberals for not being pragmatic enough.

    “With indigent defense costs for it coming out of the state budget instead of a county’s woeful budget.” …..But most times the county/city choses to arrest vs GBI so why should State pay.
    Bullets are so much less expensive……….sure there will be mistakes and accidents and vendettas but lower taxes. Yes the rich will wear vests and have runflat tires [no spike strips need apply].

    Ever wonder why lawyers are for the death penalty?

      I agree that it’s the city/county choosing to do it, but I think that if they want the death penalty, it should be up to the state’s attorney to decide whether to pursue the case as a death penalty case. If the county politicians don’t want to push it to the state level and let the bigger dogs handle it, let it be a life imprisonment case and move on. Save everyone a heap of misery.

      You have any polls to show that lawyers are all for the death penalty?

    Good riddance?

    Eric, curious;

    Why do you take such glee in the vengeance of those whom you have never met or interacted?

    It’s almost….almost…a blood sport with you. Maybe …sexual?
