I was pleased to interview Michael Medved this morning. Medved is a nationally known radio talk show host and best selling author in Washington state. I spoke with him about an upcoming event he will be moderating here in Atlanta called “Radical Islam and Rogue Regimes: Security Challenges for America and Israel.” The event takes place on Sunday October 25th, 7:30 PM at the Greenfield Hebrew Academy in Atlanta, and is sponsored by The Jewish Policy Center. I’ll be there on the 25th to live blog the event.

We spoke for about 18 minutes on two of the topics that will be covered at the panel discussion: Iran and terrorism. The interview picks up with his answer to my first question asking for a reaction to President Obama being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize this morning.

Interview with Michael Medved.

Oh, I forgot to mention Medved is on 920 AM in Atlanta from 3 – 6 pm weekdays.

I have listened to his radio show on more than one occasion and I find that his point of view is off. He does not ever find any fault in the actions of Israeli nor does he see the point in engaging with Muslim countries.

He seems to think that the interests of Israeli and the US are 100% the same. They are not.

I don’t suppose Medved ever raised a stink about Halliburton’s contract with Iran to actually provide nuclear technology to Iran.

We cannot afford our current wars and entitlements so how do we pay for a war with Iran?

BTW very good point Game Fan.

It’s actually pretty ironic isn’t it? That the same administration which made a big deal with seizing assets and sanctions ect… actually had ties with Halliburton which had continued ties with Iran. So this is one reason why people with common sense no longer buy into the “official debate” or the latest and greatest threat, ect…

All valid points.

So Iran is not a threat?

We face many threats everyday, but at the end of the day we only have so much money. That is why part of the “Containment Strategy” was making sure we built a strong coalition of world support to make sure we are not getting into quick sand with limited support.

In the book “Art of War” one major point is the greatest generals you have never heard of because they avoid or win the conflict without war. The book also makes the point win the battles of the war is not as important as without winning the hearts and minds because you will eventually have major issues. And the one of the most difficult task as winning the peace.

That is why a key component of the Reagan/Bush1 “Containment Strategy” is getting in and out and not to be seen as an occupier of the country. Also you must think like the people of that country not how we think.

We have had issues with Iran since the early 80s and if Cheney thought it was such a threat why did he do business with them as CEO of Halliburton even when we had sanctions
