No, I’m not missing your point. I am trying to undersatnd it, that’s why I asked the question. I’m not necessarily talking about politics. An issue like life seems to be much more important to me.

I think you’re missing the point here Bucky. I’m quite comfortable with my postion(s), and no longer care what the zealots in my party care to call me because of my postitions on any issue, not just abortion.

But I’m not the one (and I’m not saying you are either) that is demanding people vote my way or leave the party. It’s generally our most vocal fringe types who are single issue who label others who disagree with them “RINO”, “squish”, “moderate”, “democrat”, “witch”, or “clintonista”. They would be much happier in a minority party with 20% of the votes than working with those whom they don’t always agree with to maintain 51% of the votes.

Myself, I would rather have some of what I wanted than all of what I don’t want.

If that’s the case, then re-think your position on why you have 3 exceptions. If you come up with the same position, then move on with it. I don’t agree w/ your position as you state it today, but I don’t believe that stops you or anyone else from supporting pro-life causes.

If you really are pro-life , somebody’s label won’t stop you. You don’t have to be endorsed by GRTL or any other group to be pro-life.

On the issue of abortion, GRTL endorses candidates that hold to the exception of the life of the mother. Why does that GRTL position in any way, get rid of grass roots voters (of any party) who may have 2 or 3 exceptions?

We’ve purged our party of those dreaded Teamsters that supported Reagan. We’ve managed to rid ourselves of most of teh gays. We’re working on getting rid of folks that don’t buy in to the new goal post of one exception for abortion. We’re totally unacceptable to african americans and are working our way to having no appeal to hispanics. Still working on eliminating some squish, but we’re almost pure enough now to be happy in the minority for a long time.
