Yikes.

Twenty-two hospitals across Georgia stand out in the latest Medicare data for poor results for patients with pneumonia or heart trouble. Those negative ratings come on top of federal assessments that describe the quality of care in Georgia hospitals statewide as “weak.”

Centralizing and bureaucratizing or Federalizing the so-called “system” or “medical industry” can only take things one direction, the direction which favors the K-Street lobbyists, which in this case has many groups and organizations, which don’t exactly coincide with the needs of the weak or elderly or the sick.

Simple solution really, repeal the CON laws and let the market sort out this mess.

Who’s supporting CON? Well these very same poorly-run hospitals.

What scares me to death is the announcement that half of today’s babies will live to be 100.
Obviously staying out of hospitals [even for visits unless gowned, masked and gloved] is the safest and best way. I’ve made it to 62.

… and Georgia congressmen like Price and Broun are leading the charge against healthcare reform? That’s like a Vanderbilt fan talking about how the BCS Championship Series ought to work.
