Another hat in the ring against John Barrow

Joining the fray on the Republican side is Jeanne Seaver, a Transaction Specialist for AeroEquity, a private capital investment company in the aviation industry. She’s one of the more visible organizers for the Savannah Tea Party, has come out to several of Barrow’s town hall meetings, is a founder of the Youth Yoga Initiative (a community-oriented program to introduce youth to a healthy lifestyle through yoga and fitness) and the National Right of Communities Association, and counts Ralph Reed as a “friend” on her Facebook page.

Already running on the Republican side are Carl Smith (fire chief for the city of Thunderbolt) and Wayne Mosely (surgeon and U.S. Army officer).

[UPDATE - 29 SEP 2009]: Her Facebook page is now deleted. Curious that she didn’t think of that before she announced she was running. Welcome to the prime time, ma’am.

[insert smarmy teabagging comment here]

If I never join facebook I’ll never have to endure the pain of rejecting a friendship.

I think if you’re going to run for office as a conservative, you need to have a photo wearing something other than your tea party dress.

Doug Deal September 28, 2009 at 8:27 pm

I think that is properly called her Youth Yoga Initive Robe.

Good grief, you guys. She’s a gorgeous woman. You can be gorgeous and still be conservative. Why does she need to look buttoned down? It’s a beautiful picture. I think I’m going to go bare armed in all my campaign pictures.

What do you call a female Yogi?

Buzzfan September 29, 2009 at 9:43 am

Cindy Bear?

What do you call a dairy product that practices Yoga?

A Yogurt.

What exactly is a transaction specialist?

Rick Day September 29, 2009 at 7:29 am

I think it has something to do with a cash register.

Chris September 29, 2009 at 6:35 am

You had me up till the word Yoga.

Game Fan September 29, 2009 at 8:39 am

For exercise I prefer intense workouts and I hate stretching. For me the ideal workout would be a trip to Alcatraz where I’d run up and down hills with big chunks of concrete, like Roddy Piper.

Game Fan September 29, 2009 at 8:40 am

(Like Roddy Piper without the kilt)

drjay September 29, 2009 at 9:21 am

what’s wrong with kilts?

Just a point of clarification, but that wasn’t a campaign photo I found of her. It was one of the photos on the Youth Yoga website.

Buzzfan September 29, 2009 at 9:20 am

I thought it was a pic of Dido.

Bill Greene September 29, 2009 at 5:06 pm

I need reading glasses.

ByteMe September 29, 2009 at 6:52 pm

Yeah, right. Trying to cover for her FOX pas now, Pete?

In fact, on the whole, conservative women tend to be attractive, blond and thin. If they are not thin, some one refers to their fat @$$, like Meghan McCain. Or tif they are not pretty they have plastic surgery like Greta Van Susteren. All the women on Fox news look like anorexic barbie dolls. Not to mention the ultimate blonde anorexic, Anne Coulter.

Romegaguy September 29, 2009 at 7:02 pm

Anne Coulter is a man?

had meant to add-seaver is not the only lady in sav’h taking aim at barrow…

odd that jeanne deleted her fb page–was it unflattering? several candidates and elected officials have them–some of us are even trying to use it to help promote our campaigns…

T-Bo September 30, 2009 at 8:38 am

I’m sure she’ll be just as successful as John Stone was in unseating Barrow in the 2008 elections.

slyram September 30, 2009 at 2:31 pm

Dr. Jay: are you talking about Karen Bogans…I knows she has been approached.

drjay September 30, 2009 at 2:40 pm

no i meant the article in the paper about thomas running in a primary again–i had not heard karen was looking at the race again…

David September 30, 2009 at 7:00 pm

Who cares, she’s hot! Vote her in!

ByteMe September 30, 2009 at 7:22 pm

You’re a Democrat, right? They’re having trouble recruiting hot women to run for office.
