Creative Loafing tells us that the Marietta Daily Journal is reporting that Insider Advantage thinks Governor Sonny Perdue may become the President of the University Of Georgia when he vacates his West Paces Ferry home.

I don’t know if I believe it or not. But if it’s true, remember you heard it here first.

gatormathis August 28, 2009 at 12:09 pm

…and the fishin will be GOOD tommorrow at Sonny’s Fish Fry in Perry…ya’ll come…eat..visit friends and have a good time with fellow Republicans, meet some candidates for next year’s election, and above all, get some great fried catfish!!!!

Dash Riptide August 27, 2009 at 1:30 pm

The President is like the General Manager, right? You know, like Thomas Dimitroff.

Icarus August 27, 2009 at 1:34 pm

No, in this case, we don’t let the President anywhere near the talent. He only gets to play around with foundation funds and build buildings.

The current one only likes to build buildings in parking lots where people (used to) tailgate.

The next one will just want to dig them up, fill them with water, and stock them with bass.

Dash Riptide August 27, 2009 at 2:03 pm

In that case he’s probably not interested. I’m guessing the “We Are Marshall” gig has gone to his head.

Jason Shepherd August 27, 2009 at 1:37 pm

Wow, so Creative Loafing tells us that the Marietta Daily Journal is reporting that Insider Advantage thinks Governor Sonny Perdue may become the President of the University Of Georgia? Well, my best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who’s going with the girl who saw Chris Farris pass out at 31 Flavors last night.

GOPGeorgia August 27, 2009 at 1:58 pm

I think that’s a rip from Save Farris….

Icarus August 27, 2009 at 2:02 pm

Y’all have the talkies up in NW Georgia?

GOPGeorgia August 27, 2009 at 2:11 pm

And in color too! See the thread “Mary Norwood a threat to African-Americans” for more about color.

thomaswheatley August 27, 2009 at 2:13 pm

Gotta give credit where it’s due, my good man.

John Konop August 27, 2009 at 3:28 pm

Thomaswheatley

Icarus August 27, 2009 at 3:32 pm

John means this as a compliment. Really. I swear he does.

Chris August 27, 2009 at 2:29 pm

See thats what you get for listening to rumors.

I passed out at a Starbucks last night.

Jason Shepherd August 27, 2009 at 3:52 pm

No, that’s what you get for only ordering a decaf.

galiberal August 27, 2009 at 1:40 pm

Oh dear God, Save us All!

UGA is already having a hard time making ends meet economically. We don’t need a republican here to mess it up worse.

Icarus August 27, 2009 at 1:51 pm

Just remember if you decide to post this that you need to give us credit for the exclusive.

Also, does anyone want to make a donation to get Chris Farris a new kidney?

drjay August 27, 2009 at 2:10 pm

why donate to give farris a new kidney, when one can donate to “jay melvin 09″? everyone loves a good city council race…btw jay melvin is a graduate of uga…

galiberal August 27, 2009 at 2:18 pm

I always give y’all the link back. I don’t post other peoples things without a link back to the original article. If I need to do more, let me know :)

Icarus August 27, 2009 at 2:22 pm

You didn’t want to link to a Peach Pundit story about a Creative Loafing Story reporting a Marietta Daily Journal Story on Insider Advantage’s rumor?

By the time the AJC gets ahold of this, it’s going to be all screwed up.

galiberal August 27, 2009 at 2:28 pm

Well who should I link to, I will make sure I fix it.

Icarus August 27, 2009 at 2:31 pm

You link to CL.

If you care to credit us, it’s called a hat tip, or H/T.

But it’s funnier if you link to us who linked to CL….

…especially if Galloway would play along.

galiberal August 27, 2009 at 2:34 pm

I think I have credited every source between you and everyone you linked back to!

Jason Shepherd August 27, 2009 at 2:44 pm

What do you mean galiberal?

You don’t think Dr. Michael Adams, former Chief of Staff to Sen. Howard Baker (R-TN) and aide to Governor Lamar Alexander (R-TN) is not a Republican. You know I sat with Dr. Adams at President Bush’s inauguration in 2001.

thomaswheatley August 27, 2009 at 2:23 pm

The Georgia Gang’s gonna run out of breath just sourcing it.

Dash Riptide August 27, 2009 at 2:26 pm

Speaking of which:

Hi Dick!

Icarus August 27, 2009 at 2:29 pm

Who are you kidding? Phil Kent will claim it as an exclusive from a close personal friend.

Hi Phil!

galiberal August 27, 2009 at 2:27 pm

I mean, the way he dealt with the Water Crisis was to pray for rain… I hope he doesn’t think that will work for UGA’s budget shortfall

GOPGeorgia August 27, 2009 at 2:29 pm

Maybe he will pray for a winning football season?

galiberal August 27, 2009 at 2:31 pm

How about not, I want the Dawgs to keep winning :)

Daniel N. Adams August 27, 2009 at 2:48 pm

Merriam-Webster’s

drought 2: a prolonged or chronic shortage or lack of something expected or desired.

I’ve been praying for a worthy Governor.

Icarus August 27, 2009 at 2:58 pm

No means no Dan. I’m not running. Please quit asking.

Dash Riptide August 27, 2009 at 3:00 pm

I thought his name was Don.

Jeff August 27, 2009 at 3:22 pm

I thought we found one?

His name is, in fact, John.

Monds.

galiberal August 27, 2009 at 3:32 pm

You know, if Roy Barnes wins the Governorship and Perdue takes over at UGA, I guess that is breaking even.

Dash Riptide August 27, 2009 at 3:34 pm

That’s breaking bad.

Technocrat August 28, 2009 at 6:44 am

I heard from a freind in DC that Obama has also been offered the same position after the impeachment.

Bill Greene August 28, 2009 at 6:07 pm

Is Athens still there? I thought Jim Whitehead bombed it or something.
