My neighbor runs for office

I introduced Max Wood to Liz Cheney at the RedState Gathering this weekend. Max is a real American hero. Appointed by President Bush as the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia, Max packed his bags and left behind his office and family to volunteer in Iraq with the Department of Justice. He helped the Iraqis set up their judicial system. From a press release, “His responsibilities in Iraq included overseeing the efforts of over 400 Department of Justice employees and contractors working in the region at that time, serving as the United States Ambassador’s Liaison to the Iraq Judiciary, and heading up the joint U.S./Iraqi Major Crimes Task Force.”

Max has decided to run for Georgia Attorney General. He is a super nice guy and a terrific neighbor. I wholeheartedly support him.

By the way, Max is the guy who prosecuted Malachi York of the Nuwabian Cult. I remember that prosecution. We had the safest street in the city given all the death threats he was getting.

Max is an outstanding patriot.

Fully on board the Max Wood bandwagon!

This is a true patriot and conservative that we can all unite behind who can actually win the office and know what he’s doing!

Thank God somebody has decided to run for this office. That guy from Cobb County’s campaign isn’t even registering a pulse.

Max Wood is the federal prosecutor responsible for exposing and weeding out the scourge of the Alapaha Judicial Circuit the past few years. I commend him for a task that was long overdue. Wood went for the jugular of two of South Georgia’s most prominent judges/attorneys in Brooks Blitch and Berrien Sutton. Blitch awaits trial, and Sutton has entered a plea. A host of other court officials and attorneys have been snagged in the cases, as well. I don’t know much more about Wood’s record, but I will certainly be looking deeper.

It’s worth noting that Roy Barnes represented Blitch in JQC proceedings prior to him “retiring” early before the laundry could be fully aired. I don’t need to look any deeper on him.

While Im not very familiar with Max Wood, if he is as great a man as he seems to be, he should keep him away from all Cheneys.

Is he a democrat or a republican? What are his stances on the issues?

fishtail August 4, 2009 at 8:07 am

Max Wood is a Republican. As a good Republican, he chased down a Democratic judge in Soth Georgia. However, he has failed miserably in refusing to investigate Sonny Perdue’s questionable land deals and Federal bank loans and using his office in a corrupt fashion to write self-serving tax legislation that saved himself hundreds of thousands in Federal/State taxes. Perhaps Max’s replacement will finally get around to bringing some long-overdue justice to Sonny Perdue.

Hey fishtail…All you people who want Sonny Purdue handcuffed and led out of the governor’s mansion are missing one thing. Where is the evidence? The AJC sent their best investigative reporters out to “catch” him and couldn’t come up with anything. Thurbert Baker had nothing. There WAS an investigation and it turned up nothing. I have $100, and I’ll give it to you if you can find a prosecuter to state in public in front of cameras they have evidence against Sonny! Bill Shipp, Cynthia Tucker, and all the other “screamers” are NOT prosecuters!! Btw, when is the last time YOU went to Iraq to serve your country?

saying Thurbert had nothing isnt saying much

Thurbert Baker is an attorney?

I agree fish,

Wood is a company man. He will not make the state of Georgia any better. It is easy to prosecute low level Democrats. But where did he ever stand up to members of his own party? ‘

I look forward to getting more info on Mr. Wood.
