What’s going on in Peachtree City?

In my RSS reader is the Google Hot Trends feed which shows the most searched terms on Google (I think it’s updated hourly). The past three updates have shown peachtree city, ga at #7, #17 and most recently #28.

The only news story posted recently is about a hit and run driver, but I can’t see how that story is of national interest. Anybody know what’s going on in Peachtree City?

UPDATE: I think it’s because of this. Peachtree City is the 8th best place to live in the US, according to Money Mag.

It might have more to do with a new series that is being shot there for Lifetime. If I recall the blurb I read in the AJC last week correctly, the season premier was last night.

I’m not there. I didn’t do it, whatever it is.

The original name only adds to the charm.

They put on a pretty good fireworks show on the 4th.

All roads lead to Peachtree City. (Peachtree Road, Peachtree Street, ect…)

Runways too. (Peachtree Dekalb Airport comes to mind)

What I want to know is WHAT IS GOING ON IN AFGHANISTAN? Why is the Georgia National Guard there, what is the mission, how long can we expect this to go on, and why is the subject taboo around here?

Steve Perkins July 13, 2009 at 11:29 pm

Err… because this thread is about Peachtree City? Peach Pundit has open threads about once or twice a week, and there aren’t too may “taboo subjects” around here (except perhaps for that Young Republicans thread that just got mysteriously closed…).

There probably hasn’t been a lot of chat because:

(1) Republicans want to invade everywhere.
(2) Democrats just complained for purposes of getting a Dem elected to the White House, then forgot about it as the Dem refused to seriously change course.
(3) Nobody listens to Libertarians.

We do not want to invade “everywhere”.

(…just where people don’t look or talk like us, or where gays are allowed to marry.)

Doug Deal July 14, 2009 at 9:24 am

And where are rightful legal water resources are being held captive.

Romegaguy July 14, 2009 at 9:27 am

and where people are allowed to drink on Sundays

David Lockhart July 14, 2009 at 1:42 pm

Maybe you’re right, Rome Gay Guy and Icarus. I’m just trying to remember, do Iraq and Afghanistan gays to marry or drinking alcohol any day of the week?

Icarus July 14, 2009 at 10:00 pm

Not really. My theory is that some people really misunderstood what the Bath Party was all about.

Jason Shepherd July 14, 2009 at 7:12 pm

I only want to invade Tennessee because they are on our land. What’s so wrong with that?

Henry Waxman July 14, 2009 at 11:17 pm

We don’t want all of Tennessee up to the 35th Parallel; just that portion with the Tennessee River in it. Seems fair to me…

Henry Waxman July 14, 2009 at 11:19 pm

And Icky’s joke about the Bath Party takes a commanding lead for Line of the Week on PP.
