The Names of the Nine [corrected]

by Erick on July 1, 2009

I have from three different sources the same nine names:

Stephen Louis A. Dillard, Attorney, James, Bates, Pope & Spivey
James P. Kelly, III, Atlanta solo practitioner
David E. Nahmias, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia
James R. Osborne, Paulding County Superior Court Judge
Samuel D. Ozburn, Alcovy Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge
William M. Ray, II, Gwinnett County Superior Court Judge
Craig L. Schwall Sr., Fulton County Superior Court Judge
Mary Staley, Cobb County Superior Court Judge
Benjamin W. Studdard III, Henry County State Court Chief Judge
Rocco E. Testani, Litigation partner at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan in Atlanta

I am told Governor Perdue is leaning toward Ray with Nahmias as a fall back.

*I was told it was Osbourne, but Samuel D. Ozburn, Alcovy Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge, had been nominated by Sen. John Douglas.

Osbourne was nominated by W. Thomas Cable of Talley, Richardson & Cable, the Speaker’s law firm.

I’m actually not sure which, but, again, was told it was “the judge in Paulding County.” We’ll see on that one.

It is Ozburn, not Osbourne. Sorry for the error.

Ray would be a great choice. He served in the State Senate with Perdue and was Don Balfour’s office mate when I work for Balfour for two sessions. He’s a great guy, level headed and non-temperamental. He would be a great addition to the Supreme Court.

As, as a bit of trivia, when Ray was appointed to the Gwinnett Superior Court and resigned his senate senate, David Shafer won it in the special election.

I think Craig Schwall would make a fine Supreme Court judge. He is a former Fulton County GOP chairman and a good friend. I hope Perdue will pick him.

When do they get their fell beasts?

IndyInjun July 1, 2009 at 12:36 pm

No Barry Fleming?

I was thinking the same thing.

Good, is my response to your question.

I hope it is Billy Ray. He was a good Conservative Senator before being a Judge.

I think Mary Staley was on the short list for the federal district court under Bush.

Sorry I don’t concern myself with whiny LITTLE SH&TS like YOU who are too scared to blog under their own name!

How many times have YOU had to correct yourself?!

Romegaguy July 1, 2009 at 3:28 pm

Actually my given name is Romegaguy, Jr.

LoyaltyIsMyHonor July 1, 2009 at 3:29 pm

So much anger! Did I miss something?

I would have to agree with rugby. And so does my loyal assistant, “Lo Hung the Magnanimous”.

Four posts, four straight attacks on The Ox.

So sad.

GOPGeorgia July 1, 2009 at 4:35 pm

Rugby is your name?

Doug Deal July 1, 2009 at 4:41 pm

His name is actually Roger Cornelius Ugby or R. Ugby. People often confuse it with the sissy game of the a similar name.

Anyone else love this new reply format?

Icarus July 1, 2009 at 7:07 pm

I hate the new format because I love it so much.

Doug Deal July 1, 2009 at 7:12 pm

War = peace, too.

Dash Riptide July 1, 2009 at 7:25 pm

Peace kicks butt.

Icarus July 1, 2009 at 7:52 pm

The only reason I am not on this list is because some busybody told Sonny what I wrote about him on facebook.

Romegaguy July 2, 2009 at 8:47 pm

Icarus, did you use a state computer to write about Sonny?

Icarus July 2, 2009 at 9:06 pm

Yes.

But I won’t say which state.

IndyInjun July 2, 2009 at 10:23 pm

Surprising no one has called him RugRAT, but if he wanders over to Redstate that is a given.
