The recommendation to elect Rep. Vance Smith has been made official by the DOT Board, who has been asked to accept his new role as soon as possible, but no later than June 25th.

Reelected as Chairman of the DOT Board was Bill Kuhlke, and Gwinnett Developer Rudy Bowen replaces Larry Walker as Vice Chairman.

Now let’s all just hope and pray that none of the DOT board members fall in love with Vance Smith so we have to do this crap all over again in less than 2 years.

Does Mike Evans live on a lake in Alabama? Do you have to be a resident of GA to run for Congress in Georgia?

I doubt that Mike lives on a lake in Alabama, but if he does, I am sure it will come to the surface. Ta Dum! You have to live in Georgia but you do not have to live in the district to hold office.

Just like 6th District (Cherokee County) resident Bill Stephens, who says he is running to represent the 9th District in Congress – he’s a lobbyist too, just like Mike! Mike does have an advantage in that he does live in the district as far as I know.

I would say that Tom Graves has the largest advantage. He has no shady past, lives in the district, is extremely conservative, and is a great overall guy.
