Via the tipline we hear that ex-State Senator Nancy Schaefer has embraced the crazy:

If you are unfamiliar with Alex Jones, he is the guy that advances several conspiracy theories, such as government involvement in 9/11 and the North American Union.

Crazy people tend to “embrace” similar crazy people and ideas, Jason.

AubieTurtle May 18, 2009 at 5:03 pm

The Stupid… it hurts!

Game Fan May 18, 2009 at 5:10 pm

“Conspiracies” aren’t a real distraction for real conservatives. Because the old “Constitution and rule of law” is still the answer. Only the lightweights get sidetracked. And if it ain’t true no big deal right?

tocallaghan May 18, 2009 at 5:12 pm

Alex Jones is the type of guy who takes a rational philosophy like Libertarianism and somehow makes it irrational with beliefs that the US Government would blow up the twin towers with out a motive. His followers are just as emotional and as liberals.

John Konop May 18, 2009 at 5:15 pm

The GOP better runway from Nancy Schaefer!

Nancy Schaefer thinks the Child Protective Services takes kids to promote a “one world government”?

Does anyone agree with Nancy Schaefer that Child Protective Services kidnaps kids to make money on drug test?

Does anyone think that judges approve the above because they get kickbacks?

SHE IS NOT PLAYING WITH A FULL DECK!

Game Fan May 18, 2009 at 5:19 pm

Of course many prefer to go the “economic” route especially with the STDTYIS (stuff they didn’t teach you in school) In fact, this site has some great stuff about big corporations I think Jenny would appreciate. Didn’t they used to post here?

testing…

Howard Roark May 18, 2009 at 5:34 pm

The citizens of the 50th district didn’t buy into her vision. Interesting that they guy with the microphone introduced her as the Senator of the 50th district and she didn’t correct him.

I also find it odd that she still has her campaign website running. http://www.senatornancyschaefer.com/

Game Fan May 18, 2009 at 5:37 pm

And of course many conservatives are more interested in the ISSUES rather than the politicians anyway.

Chris May 18, 2009 at 6:15 pm

CPS doesn’t take children to promote one world government! They do it to promote one galactic government! These children are raised by space aliens to betray their own species! This must be stopped!

bowersville May 18, 2009 at 6:36 pm

I hate to get into this, well no I don’t. Nancy Schaefer is an IDIOT, and unless I stand corrected, Nancy Schaefer is still an IDIOT.

Pine Knot May 18, 2009 at 6:48 pm

Found that out fast up here in this county. As well as some of her most ardent supporters.

Bill Simon May 18, 2009 at 6:56 pm

As everyone knows, Hurricane Katrina was sent to New Orleans to punish them.

At least, that is what Nancy Schaefer claimed. (No, I kid you not!)

Pine Knot May 18, 2009 at 7:07 pm

She did keep her composure while answering the listener’s questions during the Zoeller show near the end of the campaign.

IW May 18, 2009 at 7:19 pm

I didn’t take the time to listen to all 4 parts of the interview… but I think we all need to recognize that Schaefer and Jones are at the very minimum partially correct. CPS is unconstitutional and CPS does get paid for every kid that they place in foster care (I’ve done the research and it’s true – you can do the same research and find the same documents as well).

So maybe instead of just jumping on Jones (and by association Schaefer) for being the nut job that he is (for his other beliefs)… maybe we should actually take the issue at face value and work to correct it. If you haven’t known anyone affected by CPS, it doesn’t take long to find someone. And believe me, it’s not pretty to see parents who have had their children kidnapped by the state.

I think that everyone who cares about children should be aware of the situation and seek to have their elected officials correct it. As it currently stands CPS/DFCS has fairly limitless power, which even a juvenile judge cannot overrule… and is accountable to virtually no one. It’s time to bring back due process… and start granting everyone their constitutional rights, including parents.

bowersville May 18, 2009 at 7:34 pm

“She did keep her composure while answering the listener’s questions during the Zoeller show….”

Well I don’t think so. The IDIOT Schaefer criticized women for working outside the home. Now that’s a winner.

Don’t worry Nancy, if you get on the Zoeller show again, I’ll give you another chance when I call.

Tell me this Nancy, is Eric Johnson still asking you for your support?

Pine Knot May 18, 2009 at 7:51 pm

Notice the sarcasm.
I’ll do the same as well when I call next time. Please show less anger in your voice if I get the chance to ask a fair question again.

Rick Day May 18, 2009 at 7:53 pm

SOYLENT GREEN IS ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT PEOPLE!

RuralDem May 18, 2009 at 7:59 pm

“Schaefer criticized women for working outside the home”

I hope you’re kidding. Really, bowersville, please tell me you’re joking.
I mean… what does she call what she was doing as a State Senator?

Wow.

Goes to show that the loonies are out on both sides.

homer_heretic May 18, 2009 at 7:59 pm

You all know…She is coming back to get State Senator “Buyer’s Market”. She wasn’t going that quietly.

Not that is was quiet.

bowersville May 18, 2009 at 8:18 pm

Homer, I hope you are telling the truth because I’m looking forward to your ass and kicking Nancy to the curb again…I promise you on my last breath, I’ll defeat Nancy Schaefer.

No RD, I’m not kidding. Why do you think I opposed her and helped kick her ass to the curb?

Progressive Dem May 18, 2009 at 8:44 pm

http://www.gallup.com/poll/118528/GOP-Losses-Span-Nearly-Demographic-Groups.aspx

See Gallup Poll published today for the impact of the lunatic right on the GOP. Losing voters in EVERY demographic group, but most severely among college grads, and those with post graduate degrees. Let Rush, Beck, Hannity and other entertainers speak for your party and see what happens.

The upcoming vote by the RNC to refer to the Democratic party as socialist typtifies the complete loss of political balance, bearings and relevance.

bowersville May 18, 2009 at 8:50 pm

PD, I read that stuff. Tell me how it applies to me. I’m not being a smart ass. I’m asking how it applies to Senate 50.

Progressive Dem May 18, 2009 at 8:54 pm

If you take cues from Rush, this idiot Alex Jones and other entertainers it applies. If you carve out positions on obscure issues that are irrelevant to the population, it applies.

seenbetrdayz May 18, 2009 at 9:20 pm

Well, given our Congress’s history of chalking up its delegated responsibilities to less accountable organizations, I don’t really think the NAU is much of a stretch. I mean, look at Europe. The E.U. was probably far-fetched just half a century ago, but just look at them now, all cheery and . . . ridiculing dissent. There are a few hold-outs, like Ireland, God Bless ‘em and their stubbornness to conform. Anyway, history shows there is no shortage of attempts to consolidate power with the end result being centralized planning and erosion of individualism.

But, most of what Alex Jones says doesn’t get serious consideration from me. The most involvement our government had with 9/11 was a history of really crappy foreign policy relations with Arab nations—which continues to this date, and ongoing.

bowersville May 18, 2009 at 9:23 pm

PD, you are not helping me. Now tell me what obscure positions you are taking about. I’m a little dense, well a whole lot dense, so spell it out in plain language that I can understand.

seenbetrdayz May 18, 2009 at 9:24 pm

fail.

This is what happens when you speak of decentralizing powers in the European Parliament nowadays.

seenbetrdayz May 18, 2009 at 9:25 pm

Don’t click the “fail”. It was also a FAIL.

If the link wasn’t so long I’d just ask folks to copy-paste it to the address bar. Sorry ’bout that.

seenbetrdayz May 18, 2009 at 9:38 pm

Oh, here’s another good example of the chaos caused by trying to herd sovereign states into one gigantic umbrella organization when the government skips the part about deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.

Are you serious? Trying to lump in Alex Jones with Rush? Completely different. Now you’re under my “brow of suspicion” just like “Goldwater Conservative”.

HAHA
I seem to find the best threads on PP when I’m drunk….this is a good one. She’s the face of the Republican Party to “normal” people. {My apologizes to “Jenny”}You guys realize that don’t you? Just like Barney Frank is the “typical” Deomocrat. At least neither looks like Icarus :)
Anyway, I need to make myself another drink..and avoid DeKalb, Clayton, Fulton, etc…long live Cobb…and Bill Simon…he is the front page poster for Cobb, right? Smyrna White trash need a poster too…..

Red Phillips May 18, 2009 at 10:22 pm

Jason you really are phobic of anything you perceive will “taint” you and your philosophy. But while you’re busy purging and frantically proving you are taint free Obama is trampling the Constitution. Perhaps there are better uses of your time that obsessively proving your taint free bona fides. You are a Libertarian aren’t you. Sorry to break it to you but that already taints you in the eyes of the people you seem so eager to prove that you are a “reasonable” Libertarian. Embrace your inner fringe Jason. You’re fringe already whether you admit it or not.

I don’t have much use for 911 conspiracy theories, but I would rather listen to Alex Jones than Hannity or Limbaugh because at least he gets the gravity of the situation. That the Constitution is being trampled and more is needed than a few tax cuts and and putting the GOP back in office.

And BTW, the NAU is a real documented threat. It may not be just around the corner but that there are powers that be that support it is a matter of public record. To put the NAU on the same level as 911 conspiracies is ignorant.

Nancy is more fun than a bag full of monkeys

Progressive Dem May 18, 2009 at 11:00 pm

I’m certain that is a serious brow.

The first post linked Rush, Beck and Hannity: Larry, Moe and Curly. I had never heard of Jones before tonight, but he is just another ratings whore like the aforementioned wingnuts – driven by commercial sponsorships, contrived controversy, a craving for celebrity and always mindful of their public image. These aren’t people skilled in politics, policy, legislative process, law, economics, business, warfare, religion, philosophy or ethics.

Neither Limbaugh, Hannity or Beck graduated from college. They have no foundation (either from educational training or practical work experience) from which to draw their conclusions or reasoning, other than entertainment. They have the same broadcasting credentials as Skip Carey, Vicki Locke and the Regular Guys. Their talent is they give good radio.

A political party based around their views has a foundation resting on entertainment.

Nancy Schaefer has embraced the crazies?

Isn’t that just a little… redundant?

bowersville May 20, 2009 at 7:08 am

Hey Homer Heretic, why don’t you trot your ass right on up there to the District Attorney’s office and swear on a stack of Bibles.

You know why you won’t, because you are a liar and you’ll get your ass in jail for being a hypocrite.

Now come on Homer Heretic, send me another email. HUH?” Come on punk.

homer_heretic May 20, 2009 at 9:01 am

Bowersville,

One from the suburbs of Vanna should know…the small town grape vine knows all. Stack of bibles not necessary for those with credibility. You may search far and wide for hypocrisy here but, you will not find.

Handel/Schaefer 2010 does have a nice ring. The question is…which Schaefer?

Bill Simon May 20, 2009 at 9:57 am

There is only one “Schaefer”.

The other Shafer is spelled Shafer.

Write it 100 times and you’ll get the hang of it.

GOPGeorgia May 20, 2009 at 12:08 pm

I will leave it to the voers of the 50th if she belongs in the state senate and representing Republicans or not. Wait. Didn’t they do that already?

bowersville May 21, 2009 at 9:53 am

Handel/Scheafer nice ring? Who are you lying to beside yourself?

Mad Dog May 26, 2009 at 12:26 pm

Only one thing missing from this thread.

Nancy doesn’t believe in mental illness.
