I never claimed I was a great photographer or video guy but here you go, sights and sounds from the Atlanta Tea Party on Wednesday April 15, 2009. Just me and 15,000 of my closest friends.
I will make it easy for Homeland Security to compile a list of right wing radical terrorists. Here are some photos from the Tea Party. More will be uploaded this afternoon.
Smith: So if this bulletin from April 7 looks at the right-wing groups, is there a bulletin that looks at left-wing groups as well?
Herridge: Yeah, we were able to obtain that bulletin as well. It came out in January, and didn’t get — there it is — didn’t get the same attention. It looked specifically at groups like the Earth Liberation Front, or ELF, groups that in the opinion of Homeland Security, in the future will try and attack economic targets and specifically use cyber-attacks, because they see that is sympatico, or in concert with some of their other beliefs.
So there are two assessments. The one on the left, the one on the right is the one that’s getting the attention because of the leak.
… I would point out that both of these assessments, Shep, were commissioned under the Bush administration. It takes some time to do them. They only came out after he left office
“They only came out after he (Bush) left office,” and before release approved by Janet Napolitano, the current DHS administrative head.
Just because Bush started it, doesn’t make it right for for the Obama administration to finish it.
Please notice that the DHS report on the left named a specific group, the Earth Liberation Front. The DHS report on the right was a general report and named no specific radical violent group.
Doug, you are the one obsessed over semantics of a single word. You took what Howard Roark posted and assumed that you knew his methodology for deciding his/her vote.
You took my words and assumed you know my thought process, my mind and tried your best to put words in my mouth that aren’t there.
Then you had the audacity, based on your baseless assumption, that you hoped mine and Howard’s vote was cancelled, based on a single assumption you made without foundation.
If you get this riled up by someone using “Democracy”, you have long made leave of your senses. Thus, let’s hope someone out there is counterbalacing your vote so someone else with reason can decide elections.
Also, try growing some skin. When your sensitive bits are flapping around like they have been, it’s easy to get all riled up over valid criticism.
This strategy of demonizing Obama over everything is like the old story of the Boy Who Cried Wolf. The conservative movement has been high-jacked by a bunch of alarm pulling entertainers. This maybe great for ratings and their wallet but it has destroyed any focus on real issues.
At this point I am for anyone willing to focus on real issues like education, healthcare, transportation……. And the truth is on a national level the GOP is killing itself non-stop with hyper-reactive PR strategy on every issue from this, pirates……
The average family is worried about jobs, health-care, schools……… All the other stuff makes for great entertainment but it is repelling non GOP base voters.
It has been said that a democracy allows 51% of the people to take away the rights of the remaining 49%. The temptation to operate as a democracy is, and has often been, there, regardless whether the majority at the time is comprised of Democrats or Republicans. The understanding of the difference is of absolute importance for anyone wishing to participate in the political system. If you want to ‘cancel out’ someone’s vote, make sure you’re cancelling the guy who wants to abuse majority rule—not the vote of the guy who acknowledges that we live in a republic.
For example, it is going to be nearly impossible to ever see Iraq become a democracy. The best it can hope for is to become a republic, comprised of Sunni, Shi’ite, and Kurdish states (perhaps more, but those are the main three groups) united loosely to provide for their common defense (kind of like that republic called the USA, or, well, it used to be one, anyway).
For the same reasons, California will struggle to succeed in ever legalizing marijuana, and Georgia will never succeed in—er, whatever it is that we want for our ‘general welfare—because there will always be that 51% trying to interfere from the top.
The Romans took what Athens had going for it, and improved upon it (at least until their republic mutated into a sort-of dictatorship). Maybe it’s just me, but, I see that we’re regressing. Or, maybe history is just repeating itself.
I think this was a very good display that Americans are fed up with the tax policies of Obama and his ideas of spending money that our grandchildren will never be able to pay back. If he really wants to do good for this country, it is my belief that he ought to be looking at fixing the so-called free trade agreement. It’s even harder to find jobs that aren’t here anymore but moved over seas because labor is cheaper. If adjustments to the import/export tax were made, making it cost more to send items into to this country rather than produce them here, jobs would return and America could start back on the road of progress. If anyone knows another way to help make this counttry great again, please enlighten me. Forget about taking more of my paycheck, I have earned the money to provide for my family, not to pay for Obama’s failed policies and his socialistic ideas.

Anyone know how expensive the Georgia World congress Center is? Centennial Park is booked. I would love to hold the next protest at CNN’s back door..

DHS is full of BULL.

bower,
You are the one obsessed over the semantics of a single word. Foolishness like that makes everyone on the right look like wackos.

Talk about an obsession over a word.
bower,
If you get this riled up by someone using “Democracy”, you have long made leave of your senses. Thus, let’s hope someone out there is counterbalacing your vote so someone else with reason can decide elections.

Doug, again with your baseless assumptions you are attributing words and thoughts to me that aren’t there.
Keep assuming Doug, you’re an expert at that.
Keep on starting with “If you….” You might be able to hypothecal your assumptions into something you can convince yourself is true.
