It makes sense to me that the GOP might want to consider making Robert Brown their boogie man for 2010. Sure, they’re going to get labeled racist for doing it, but then the Democrats always label them racist.
It seems to me when you have the leader of the Senate Democrats not paying taxes, killing the Georgia Music and Sports Halls of Fame because he thinks black people don’t visit there, and generally turning non-race issues into racial confrontations, you have the makings of a big target.
Likewise, the man is desperate for money — I’m sure you can follow the money back to some inappropriate deals.
The GOP, no doubt through third party groups, should set their sights on Robert Brown.

um, wasn’t it David Lucas who said white people don’t visit them? And shouldn’t they be allowed to fail if they repeatedly need government (taxpayer) money? I do think you’re painting him with a broad brush Erick, don’t be so quick to lump him into the same category as Sharpton or Jesse J. If you actually took the time to listen to the speech he gave in opposition to E. Johnson’s proposed tax rules, you would have realized that he was criticizing Sharpton, et al, and criticizing them for doing nothing about slavery….in Africa, not the US.
But like Elaine Lucas, I guess it’s just easier for you to dismiss someone as a racist. Now, granted, I see him as a State Senator and not as he operates in Macon.

Someone needs to ask Senate Appropriations Chairman Jack Hill if he’s going to continue to fund the public golf course at Hard Labor Creek on account of, and I quote him: “People in rural Georgia need recreation too.”
Robert Brown is the best and brightest the Democrats in the Senate have to offer the people of Georgia.
Loyalty, Robert reiterated the remark and is standing with David on the issue.
Robert is, in all seriousness, one of the most angry men I’ve ever known. He truly is pissed off at the world when you start peeling back the layers.
Erick,
In Sen. Brown’s defense, he always conducts himself with honor and integrity on the floor of the Senate. I know nothing about the guy other than what I can see via the live feed when he is in Senate chambers and particularly when he is in the well, but I hold as stated above within my limited view.
“In Sen. Brown’s defense, he always conducts himself with honor and integrity on the floor of the Senate.”
Like playing the race card on Eric Johnson because they are on opposite sides of a vote.
Like putting a picture of Mao up because a vote didn’t go his way.
True honor and integrity. Brown is an embarrassment to the people he represents and to the people of Georgia. He should go back to Bibb County and crawl under the rock he came from.
Georgia Republicans have been absolutely handed a gift with someone like Brown as the Senate minority leader. If he were a Republican, he would have literally been laughed out of politics already. It is time that Georgia Republicans grow some hair and go after some of these clowns. Sure, the GOP will be labeled as racist for going after an incompetent buffoon. If Senate Democrats chose him as their leader, I say let the chips fall where they may!
“Loyalty, Robert reiterated the remark and is standing with David on the issue.”
Gotcha, well that’s certainly disappointing.

What race card? You obviously weren’t paying attention. By putting up the pic of Johnson with the 1956 flag, Brown was conveying the fact that Johnson is a political opportunist who would embrace any issue for votes or to get ahead in politics.
Does Brown sincerely believe that Johnson is a racist/bigot? I guess you’ll have to ask Brown that.

BS…..Brown tried to make Johnson look like a racist. I don’t have to ask Brown. This is a quote from the Telegraph on March 6:
“During most of his speech, Brown attacked Johnson on several fronts. He spoke of the senator’s push in 2007 to have the General Assembly apologize for slavery. He said that, if Johnson was interested in slavery, he should take a bunch of American gang members to Africa “and tell them to free those slaves that are digging the gold that they have in our mouths.”
On the Senate video boards, Brown put up a picture of Johnson smiling and holding the former Georgia flag with both hands above his head. That flag prominently featured the Confederate battle emblem and the picture was apparently taken during a St. Patrick’s Day parade in Savannah.
“I wanted you to see what he wears when he goes to parades,” Brown said after his speech.”
Forget the fact that the picture was taken when the flag was the official state flag of the state of Georgia. Brown tried to play the race card, pure and simple.
If he were a Republican and pulled that garbage, along with the noose he showed next to Chariman Mao’s picture, he would have been completely run out of the Senate.
Remember all the furor over Westmoreland uttering the word “uppitty”? Talk about double standards!
It seems to me that the only racists that continue their hate mongering are people like the illustrious Solon from Macon.
