Jane Kidd Hates Democracy

As Andre noted, Jane Kidd is all upset and about to cry because the State House rejected the Obama resolution. She said

Last year, millions of Americans, including 47% of Georgians voted for a message of change.

In other words, a majority of Georgians rejected Barack Obama’s intentions of replacing the failed policies of the last eight years with the failed policies of the last 100 years. And Jane Kidd does not like that one bit.

The resolution intended to praise Obama for “unimpeachable reputation for integrity, vision and passion.”

His reputation is impeachable. He was, after all, a member of the New Party, which is an amalgamation of communists and committee of correspondence members.

He doesn’t have any integrity. There’s a reason I call him Captain Bullsh*t.

The only vision he has is the line of sight to his teleprompter’s glass panel.

The only passion he has is ruining the American free market system.

Yes my friends, I passionately and sincerely hope Barack Obama fails. Because if he is successful, the nation will fail.

And here’s the thing: we already know his policies will fail to do what he said they’d do. His stimulus bill will drag out the recession. His drive to make healthcare more affordable will involve driving up private healthcare costs so that public costs look cheaper.

The man has done nothing but set up a kleptocracy and we can only hope it collapses before the nation.

By the way, the key outrage here is that the State Senate passed this crap by unanimous consent. I hope the GOP remembers it in the gubernatorial primary.

So is Erick’s M.O. now to mimic Rush, in the attempt of being a poor imitation of him?

Dark Knight Begins March 20, 2009 at 11:38 am

Rugby:

Honestly, the first I heard of the ‘I want Obama to FAIL’ stuff was on RedState, which is Erick’s creation…

To all of you spineless shell of independant thinkers …BITE ME!!! Go save a rainforest or hug a poison ivy draped tree. Your BOY won “don’t worry be happy”. You clowns kill me……

Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference between PP and RS. This site, while still informative, has changed so much in the past year.

Dawgfan March 20, 2009 at 11:56 am

Nothing good will come from opposing this. For more see my post on Austin Scoot.

Andre March 20, 2009 at 12:01 pm

Erick,

We could debate all day whether America is a republic or a democracy, but if we both agree that this country is indeed a democracy, then we must also agree on one of the basic tenets of democracy.

Majority rule with minority rights.

A United States Dept. of State Publication that I pulled up online just a few seconds ago says the following:

“Minorities – whether as a result of ethnic background, religious belief, geographic location, income level, or simply as the losers in elections or political debate – enjoy guaranteed basic human rights that no government, and no majority, elected or not, should remove.”

According to the November 2, 2008 election results certified by Secretary of State Karen Handel, 1,844,123 Georgians representing 47% of all ballots cast voted for Barack H. Obama of Illinois to be the President of the United States.

Yes, that was less than 50%.

Yes, that was a minority, but if you believe in democracy –and Erick, I’m sure that you do– then you must also believe that the rights of those 1,844,123 should not be violated.

The voices of the minority should be heard, not silenced.

Having said all that, I disagree with your assertion that “Jane Kidd hates democracy.”

As long as Jane Kidd continues to assert her basic human rights –freedom of speech and expression; freedom of religion and belief; due process and equal protection under the law; and freedom to organize, speak out, dissent, and participate fully in the public life of their society– she not only does not hate democracy, she is a defender of it.

Decaturguy March 20, 2009 at 12:01 pm

Erick,

You and your demented and race baiting (see the multiple references to the President of the Unites States as “BOY” from “Southern Breeze”) anti-Obama hysteria might be good for the readership of your blogs and get you invited onto more right wing television and radio programs , but it will ensure that he and his party get re-elected. Bravo.

Goldwater Conservative March 20, 2009 at 12:34 pm

The free market system ruined itself.

Jane Kidd is an idiot.

If Obama fails, America fails.

The bitterness of the right wing will not be abated by more right wing politics.

John Konop March 20, 2009 at 12:35 pm

I have issues with Obama over policy, but this Rush hate spewing attitude helps no one other than the people making money off it. Unless the GOP starts focusing on solutions over flame throwing it will become a small regional party.

The sad part is the Goldwater/Buckley conservative movement was part of an intelligent and intellectual counter balance to the Democrats. Now it seems all we have from the Rush crowd is nasty sound bites used to rally the worse behavior in people. The irony is many of them claim to use their relationship with Jesus as their calling card. I would suggest they should read the bible more and say much less.

SOUTHERN BREEZE March 20, 2009 at 12:37 pm

Decaterguy, no racist here just don’t agree with you and your treehugging buddies and refuse to stand by and listen to you whiners without commenting. Obama will be a one hit wonder…..

Doug Deal March 20, 2009 at 12:47 pm

GC,

Before you start calling Kidd an idiot, you should first label that haggard image you see in the bathroom image every morning. There is not coupling between Obama and the US. I would prefer people not going around wishing the President would fail. It would be better if they focused on coming up with a coherent strategy on their own. However, throughout history, if the leaders of places like Soviet Russia, Rome, Imperial Japan, Italy, or Cambodia had failed, lots of suffering my innocent people could have been abated, and the countries themselves likely would have succeeded.

It is absolutely hilarious how you hypocritical kool-aid drinking nutcases criticized Bush 24×7 for eight years and thought it was the very modern definition of patriotism and now think any and all criticism of the President Teleprompter is tantamount to treason.

Goldwater Conservative March 20, 2009 at 12:55 pm

Actually, doug…you are one of the worst. You have no business calling me an idiot.

Criticize the presidential teleprompter. I don’t care.

Just remember, no country has failed from an abudance of liberalism. Every nation you listed above failed from right wing fanaticism.

That does not mean that I believe liberalism = success. You have got to be smart about it. Obama is not being stupid about it though. Many house democrats are…but OUR President isn’t. He is smart. Perhaps you are just used to BushII being there…but Obama does get it.

Doing something about this crisis is better than doing nothing. At the very least we can continue to have some level of wealth for a few more years…even if there is a lot of debt. Worse case scenario…it fails. We are back to where we were and our deficit will be too big for the creditors demand immediate payment.

Chris March 20, 2009 at 12:59 pm

Ok, can we drop all the teleprompter jokes?

The monkey we supported for 8 years couldn’t speak with a working one. Where the hell does the Right get off criticizing Obama for not being able to speak without one?

Icarus March 20, 2009 at 1:01 pm

The Farris is getting angry. Do not anger the Farris.

boyreporter March 20, 2009 at 1:02 pm

Erick should hang his head in shame. Every time PP starts getting dull, he rears back and practically yells the “N” word — stirring up race, his favorite card, ’cause it scratches an itch he’s carried all his life and gets the knuckle-dragging mouth-breathers going flat out.

Doug Deal March 20, 2009 at 1:14 pm

Farris,

They both are confirmed idiots who are in way over their heads, and the current one is starting to make Bush into a genius. It is time to stop viewing these vacuous narcissists as anything other than worthless pieces of trash that they are. If you are looking to a politician as some sort of hero or savior, at best you have very poor judgment of character.

When the President does something worthy of merit other than reading from a teleprompter, the references to his inability to do anything without one may stop. Until then, too bad.

SOUTHERN BREEZE March 20, 2009 at 1:30 pm

Chris,”the monkey we supported for eight years…” what if someone made a statment like that about the GOLDEN BOY all these leftist pansies would be calling for your head on a spike. But, you hear not a word from the hall monitors….just an observation.

Bill Simon March 20, 2009 at 2:03 pm

Goldwater,

You stated this: “Just remember, no country has failed from an abudance of liberalism. Every nation you listed above failed from right wing fanaticism.”

You’re actually wrong because you don’t understand the definitions of “right wing” and “left wing” government.

“Right-wing” forms of governments have complete anarchy at the far right with TOTAL freedom.

“Left-wing” forms of governments have complete totalitariansim at the far left point where the individual has no freedoms or liberty.

ALL of the Commies, the Nazis, Joe Stalin, etc. were all ON THE LEFT with their “liberal” ideas. ALL of those governments murdered millions of their own people.

This country is not a democracy, but a republic. A democracy rules according to the majority, and no rule of law exists. A republic is the only form of right-wing government that works to protect its citizens…until those citizens go to sleep and forget why they formed the union of states.

Bill Simon March 20, 2009 at 2:05 pm

Here’s a 10-minute video reminder on what the different forms of government are and why a Republic is the right-wing form of government:

John Konop March 20, 2009 at 2:59 pm

I disagree with Obama on his stimulus plan, but any rational person can see he is a very bright guy

Decaturguy March 20, 2009 at 3:05 pm

Chris,”the monkey we supported for eight years…” what if someone made a statment like that about the GOLDEN BOY all these leftist pansies would be calling for your head on a spike. But, you hear not a word from the hall monitors….just an observation.

One big difference, you racist genious, President Bush is not black. Calling him a “monkey” does not have the same connotation as calling a black person “monkey.” Is it uncivil? Yes. But if you can’t see the difference between calling a black person a “monkey” or “boy” and calling a white person the same thing then you are just really, really, really stupid.

I’ll bet Doug isn’t a good bowler, either.

odinseye2k March 20, 2009 at 3:12 pm

I would consider the condemnation of a guy that couldn’t wait to sniff Dick Cheney’s throne very, very high praise.

Doug Deal March 20, 2009 at 3:23 pm

Icarus,

I used to bowl in the 180′s and have a best game of 220 something, but that was a long time ago, and when I lived in another state.

John,

Really? And we do mean in the context of being President, not being the night janitor at the free clinic. When you fail to understand basic economics, can’t put a thought together without an electronic cheat sheet and pretty much have gaff after gaff, all indications point to the fact that the lights are off, Presidentially speaking.

Neither GW Bush nor Obama have what it takes to be a good President, but the same is true for Kerry and McCain and most of the barrel bottom crust that normally end up getting the nominations. It’s enough to make you teary eyed for Clinton or even Bush Sr.

Buzz Brockway March 20, 2009 at 3:32 pm

Is Obama’s Teleprompter a good bowler?

Doug Deal March 20, 2009 at 3:38 pm

Don’t you believe we all descended from apes? Or, are you one of them there NEW kinda Demokrauts that believe in Creationism and stuff?

Chris March 20, 2009 at 6:23 pm

Were all descended from apes. Some had decended further than others

Bill Simon March 20, 2009 at 6:29 pm

Then we’re all composed of about 95% monkey.

Icarus March 20, 2009 at 7:54 pm

K Mart sucks.

MaxieGrrrl March 20, 2009 at 10:07 pm

Absolutely unbelievable. Not only are you engaged in circular fire, but the dayum circle is shrinking thanks to the spew. Say what you want about the man’s policies, but it’s absolutely laughable that we’d be discussing his intelligence in light of GW Bush. I know I can always find good “strategery” on the “Internets”.

We’ve honored a lot of people under the Gold Dome with similar resolutions who were far less deserving. Hell, we named highways and roads after the clinically insane. (Cynthia McKinney Parkway). Opposing this gets us nothing but a smaller party and more time in the political wilderness.

Terran1212 March 20, 2009 at 10:51 pm

“He doesn’t have any integrity. There’s a reason I call him Captain Bullsh*t.”

Because you’re a fanatic who couldn’t argue his way out of a paper bag?

Doug Deal March 20, 2009 at 11:19 pm

MG,

No one who thinks this resolution is a good idea will ever cast a vote for the Republicans anyway. Don’t get hysterical.

SOUTHERN BREEZE March 20, 2009 at 11:19 pm

Maurice Atkinson March 21, 2009 at 7:57 am

Goldwater Conservative, You certainly have a warped world view. “”"”Just remember, no country has failed from an abudance of liberalism. Every nation you listed above failed from right wing fanaticism.”"”"

Take a tour of pretty much any middle eastern country. They sit on the world’s massive oil reserves, yet they live in abject poverty. When in college, I spent a summer in Zambia, working in a school. While that certainly makes me know expert, but the observations from 29 years are go are still relevant today. Zambia sits on a wealth of the world’s mineral supply (copper, uranium, diamonds etc.). Free health care for all. The main highway from Lusaka to Livingstone was a one lane road. They called it “suicide highway”. Each vehicle got to keep 2 tires on the road and 2 tires on the dirt…. The schools had a unique testing feature. If you didn’t pass a competency test in the 5th, 7th and 9th grades you were done with school. The uneducated are the vast majority, most don’t even attend school.

Still today their infrastructure is in shambles, the school I worked in is closed, AIDS is of epidemic proportions and their socialist policies have pretty much kept that country destroyed. It’s a shame, because it is gorgeous and rich in so many assets.

The free enterprise system, along with representative republic that adheres to a conservative philosphy is the platform for a good society. I see nothing to promote either coming out of this congress or President Obama’s administration…. He keeps pandering to the lowest common denominator.

Terran1212 March 21, 2009 at 12:32 pm

I’m sure they’re not in shambles because their country is ruled by corrupt plutocrats who suction wealth away from the infrastructure that needs it, and instead because they believe in taxation, or something.

The countries with best the best HDI rating are Sweden, Norway, Denmark. Not exactly conservative models.

John Konop March 21, 2009 at 2:40 pm

Doug,

I have many friends and relatives that I disagree on politics yet still respect them. Gates even pointed out Obama is more intellectually curious than Bush. I think Obama would be very interesting to engage in conversation about policy. The Rush crowd of demonizing people they disagree with is killing the GOP. Why not point out the policy deference without being nasty?

Obama is ‘more analytical’ than Bush.

GATES: I think that probably President Obama is somewhat more analytical, and he makes sure he hears from everybody in the room on an issue. And if they don’t speak up, he calls on them.
Q: A marked difference from his predecessor?
GATES: President Bush was interested in hearing different points of view but didn’t go out of his way to make sure everybody spoke if they hadn’t spoken up before.
Watch

http://controlcongress.com/bush/obama-is-‘more-analytical’-than-bush

Maurice Atkinson March 21, 2009 at 5:38 pm

More analytical?

Hmmm, wonder where that analysis went when he and his fantastic cohorts began demonizing the free enterprise system?

Most folks don’t pay attention to politics until their taxes go up or their rights infringed. This analytical president has harnessed the eyes and ears of a disgruntled public that is watching their 401(k) plans flushing down a toilet while the president has his Wednesday cocktail parties at the White House. Were watching this analytical president pander and promote the most un-productive element of society (his florida town hall meeting) while we’re working to pay for his massive spending proposals, now law.

George Bush inherited a 5 trillion dollar debt. He and the Republicans ran it up an additional 3 trillion (remember the dastardly war?). We threw the bums out and obtained another set of incompetence, who piled on another 2 trillion of debt. Now this highly analytical Einstein has added additional debt exceeding a trillion dollars and proposing another 3 trillion!!!! Yeah, this is analytical. And you question why Rush and the rest of mainstream America have their panties in a wad?!!!

John Konop March 21, 2009 at 5:54 pm

Maurice Atkinson

And what did Bush do?

“Hmmm, wonder where that analysis went when he and his fantastic cohorts began demonizing the free enterprise system?”

Maurice Atkinson March 21, 2009 at 6:34 pm

We’re not under Bush. It was wrong then and wrong now. Tax the apologists for this administration and all the registered Democrats, then watch the hysteria.

Heck, they don’t pay their taxes now.

John, the fact is, in politics you better squash it before it starts. Ask any legislator, it is easier to kill a piece of legislation that let it get a vote. Obama is the exception. In less than 3 months he has done more to destroy freedom and the free enterprise system than any of his predecessors. I can only imagine what the next 3.75 years hold.

John Konop March 21, 2009 at 9:35 pm

Maurice Atkinson

Why did you not use the same harsh tone toward Bush as you do against Obama?

John Konop March 21, 2009 at 9:39 pm

Maurice Atkinson

I did not agree with the Obama plan but the Bush, Clinton and congress did way more harm than Obama via credit swap rules, loan guarantees, lax audits……

Maurice Atkinson March 21, 2009 at 10:30 pm

Age has a way of educating a person. However, I was not a silent voice. Obama has been in office less than 90 days. No President in history has achieved more success in such a limited amount of time, pursuing his agenda.

John, Bush is not President. His administration and policies are history. America is experiencing the dismantling of the free enterprise system. We peasants have but one thing to use, that is our voice and energy to protest. Protest we will.
