Just got this through e-mail:
This morning, Fox News Strategy Room reported that in order to attend the Atlanta Tax Day Tea Party, one would have to pay $25. Immediately, Twitter was on fire and the word was spreading. But Fox News apparently didn’t do their homework.Someone went onto the Tea Party website and noticed that Americans For Prosperity was to be a local co-sponsor for the event in Georgia. They then decided to call up AFP and inquire about “the event.” Since AFP was planning a pre-existing event that had nothing to do with the Tea Party events, the staffer began explaining the details of the AFP event which cost $25 to attend (without knowing that the caller was addressing the Tea Party). The person then decided to contact local media affiliates and allege that the Tea Parties are charging people to participate. The Atlanta affiliate of Fox News then decided to roll with the story without doing any sort of fact checking.
National Communications Director Juliana Johnson states, “This is ridiculous. This is yellow journalism at its worst. These kinds of things are what give journalists a bad name. You know, it takes less than 5 minutes to send an email, even less to call me, to inquire about the legitimacy of the person’s claim and yet they could not even do that.”
There is no charge for any of the Tea Party events and it will stay that way. A conclusion has been reached between DontGo and Fox News.
Don’t forget the next Atlanta Tea Party is on April 15 (6:30pm) at the Georgia Capitol.

damn liberal media conspiracy. hey, wait…
“We need to have a real Tea Party and flat out refuse to pay income tax.”
Ponder this thought for a minute. A second even………..
Then consider this.
This very day, on the early morning news, how many people were unemployed was being discussed at length. Long lines at unemployment offices and places that were offering jobs were being shown. And I mean long lines.
In the last few months, money has been dispensed left and right, both by the Left and the Right.
Lots of high end employees at car plants and numerous other manufacturers, as well as bankers, lawyers, realtors, government furloughs, salesmen plus herds and herds of the common people are being displaced from the employment rolls in the US of A.
So, iffa alla these people makka no income, then they paya no income taxxas, correct?
Jenny, your Tea Party is here, it’s just nobody wants to admit it. The last few months have been about dispensing money, but soon the time to begin estimating revenues to return this money will be here.
The amount of revenue that will no longer exist this year, will dwarf that of a voluntary “Tea Party” by a zillion to one. A “Tea Party” protest of not paying taxes has its penalties and fees, of which most law abiding US citizens want no part.
Not paying income taxes on income you did not make in 2009 is a simple computation of your 1040 EZ Form, which carries neither a penalty nor fee, nor payment of an income tax. Simple math at its best. Or as the song went, “Nothing from nothin leaves nothin”.
Taking all this in consideration, there won’t be a need for a “Tea Party”, soon the “Pity Party” will be in efect. The sheer amount of income, social security, workman’s comp, and all other taxes taken from the non-existant paychecks will be phenomenal.
If you wonder why the government has been trying to prop things up so hard, self preservation is the keyword here.
We went through million, billion, now we are in the trillions like it’s a one cent sales tax promotion, a mere common word that relates to value.
Now I’m beginning to worry if zillion was actually ever a word or just a suggestion of comedic relief.
So, what comes after trillion, and how many zeros are in a zillion anyway?
The income tax does not cover budget items. It covers the interest on using the Federal Reserve Notes. Reagan taught us that.
The Georgia Legislators don’t know about limiting the size of government when you have no money coming in. They expanded government by creating new agencies, increasing taxes, and increasing fees….not to mention a couple bills to bring us into better compliance with Federal control–like the bill to increase the drivers license fee by $5 and increase compliance with the REAL ID act.
“drivers license fee by $5 ”
Five years ago, I remember them saying you would be able on the next renewal to do it online, at which they would use same picture I guess.
So I get my renewal in the mail a couple of weeks ago, and it has a box for five or ten years.
Benefits:
Ten plus the first five, that will make my license picture fifteen years old, by the next renewal, during those I will look much younger on my picture. “Suh,….I said I needed yo driver’s license, not your son’s….”
Best part being, my fee is locked in and paid, protected from new raised fees over the next ten legislative sessions where surely these fees will be raised over and over again.
Hopefully they wont make retroactive fees where you have to pay in additional money anyway.
GM;
I’ve had the same picture for years. I don’t forsee a problem though. I look just as bad now as I did when I had it taken.
