They want to get this out of the way quickly, before any more oppostion builds.

Good short term strategy.

Passing this affront to Georgia voters is a very bad long term strategy.

I can see Treavor SOutherland, Bobby Kahn, and others rubbing their hands together right now saying “yes, yes my pretties, vote yes, vote yes…”

Well, Harbin was allowed to compare the benefit to the rate payer compared to the investment rate, when as we all know the proper rate to compare it to is the credit card interest rate. Hypothetical rate payers don’t vote; real rate payers have high interest debt. Shame on us for living beyond our means, but that’s how it is. That being the case, is it better for the rate payer to pay down credit card debt or to become Georgia Power’s involuntary creditor?

More to the point, who do you think you are trying to force me to become a business’s creditor under any circumstances, no matter how pragmatic it might seem?

(Yes, you with the laptop in the House chamber who doesn’t want to click on the live feed. I’m talking to you. Pay attention.)

I must admit how far technology has brought us.

Honestly how many of the people that blog here would have heard about this bill without a venue such as this? The local news statios aren’t covering it…it is important, but not entertaining I suppose.

I must admit, that after hearing the debate at this website, I can not say that I approve this bill. I think the ideas were good, but from what I have gathered…this bill was either put together haphazardly or as repayment for political contributions. I still have enough faith in the legislators that wrote the bill to lean towards the former.

Regardless of how the chamber votes on this bill, the contributors to Peach Pundit have done well and provided an invaluable public service.
