Thanks to the AJC for providing the update. The meeting got delayed and I wasn’t able to stick around that long.
Supporters of the bill had hoped to get it approved Wednesday to set up a Senate floor vote. But only two senators showed up for the committee meeting, not enough to provide a quorum.
Senate Regulated Industries Chairman David Shafer (R-Duluth) said the issue will be considered again next Wednesday.

ok the cynic in me wonders–did something actually come up–or was the a mysterious lack of quorum related to the brave senators trying to dodge this bill??
I wonder how often a quorum is not met….I’d say rarely, if ever….
Translation: NO BALLS
Shouldn’t receive their per diem for not having enough balls to attend and VOTE on legislation. I mean, it’s only your job. Right?
Well, the meeting was supposed to be at 3pm, it got bumped to 4:45 cause the transportation overhaul bill had the room.
Not sure if that is trickery or commonplace.
Ah…well conflicts with other committees do occur, especially toward the end of session. Generally they find an alternate committee room though. I’ll give them a pass this time, but to wait an hour and 45 minutes gives me the impression that it was by design
