Friday, February 27, 2009
Time: 12:00pm – 1:00pm
Location: Georgia State Capitol Building ~ Downtown Atlanta
Street: Washington Street Exit
City/Town: Atlanta, GA

Please plan to participate in this exciting event to protest the Obama Administration’s and our the US Congresses’ economic policies and massive spending bills! Many of our politicians and elected officials have become so removed from reality, they do not even listen to us anymore! It is time we stand up as citizens of this great land and let our voices be heard! This is our country too!

Please plan to attend this event on Friday, February 27th at the Georgia State Capitol in downtown Atlanta. Please bring yourself, family members and friends! The more people we have in attendance, the more attention we will get and our voices will be heard all the way in Washington DC and around the nation!

Please dress in patriotic attire and bring signs, cameras, and camcorders with you! Also, please don’t forget your tea bags and/or tea leaves!

This Nationwide event began last Friday as online conservative activists rallied to CNBC’s Rick Santelli’s call last week, backed by mortgage traders, for a “Nationwide Chicago Tea Party” to protest the Obama Administration’s bailout plan.

Who gives a flying Eff about Congress when we have our own Republican legislature voting to eff the residential ratepayers of Georgia Power whilst Georgia Power gets to avoid risking its own capital?

registrar February 24, 2009 at 1:14 am

but it sound like a fun party, doesn’t it? :)

Daniel N. Adams February 24, 2009 at 1:16 am

Bill,

When will the reps vote on the bill… Maybe after the tea party, we can storm the dome… I wish we had Old Sparky with and effigy of a taxpayer sitting in it with a sign “Please vote ‘NO’ on to Georgia Power and SB31.”

(for you youngsters… Old Sparky is the name of GA ‘s old death penalty electric chair)

Kellie February 24, 2009 at 6:45 am

I think I am going to go. For once my Friday is open so might as well go to a protest. ;-)

Please dress in patriotic attire and

I dont’ suppose this means we should show up with our muskets & cannons huh?…. *sigh*

Know Nothing February 24, 2009 at 1:51 pm

Tickerhell,

No it doesn’t, but we should dress up like Indians.

Kellie February 24, 2009 at 2:47 pm

I was planning on carrying a sign that reads
“We want to keep our Money and our Guns!!”

Icarus February 24, 2009 at 2:51 pm

“You can have my high fructose corn syrup and aspartame when you pry it out of my cold dead hands.”

Kellie February 24, 2009 at 4:37 pm

Icarus
Did you steal that from Jenny?

Icarus February 24, 2009 at 4:46 pm

No, I paid her worthless fiat money for it.

Bill Simon February 25, 2009 at 9:47 am

“worthless fiat” is redundant…

Magic Jeff February 25, 2009 at 11:05 am

For once my Friday is open so might as well go to a protest. ;-)

What about my protest against women in Politics? My Press Aides will furnish you a seat out of pure Plywood if you go.

Kellie February 25, 2009 at 11:57 am

Jeff-
Come on down to the capitol on Friday and say something stupid to me in person. My Army Ranger husband would enjoy hearing it. ;-)

Magic Jeff February 25, 2009 at 12:02 pm

Kellie, I can run faster than he can stand up.

Magic Jeff February 25, 2009 at 12:04 pm

He’d be no match against my Press Aides!

Kellie February 25, 2009 at 12:23 pm

I doubt that.

Magic Jeff February 25, 2009 at 12:31 pm

I doubt that.

Care to make a monetary wager on that?

registrar February 25, 2009 at 1:17 pm

isn’t john oxendine embarrassed that magic jeff’s name links to his site?

Dash Riptide February 25, 2009 at 2:31 pm

Unless “Magic Jeff” is really “Magic John.”

It’s all starting to make sense now.

Kellie February 25, 2009 at 2:45 pm

Magis Jeff is James Wallace aka North Ga Indy.

Jack – will you be there on Friday?

Dash Riptide February 25, 2009 at 2:51 pm

Wow. This rabbit hole goes deeper than I thought. Well played, Mr. Oxendine. Well played.

Magic Jeff February 25, 2009 at 3:12 pm

Jack – will you be there on Friday?

Sadly, no. I’m gonna be watching Dumb and Dumber on Friday Night.

Well played, Mr. Oxendine. Well played.

I’m not Oxendine!

Dash Riptide February 25, 2009 at 3:19 pm

I’m not Oxendine!

Hey, man, you don’t talk to Oxendine. You listen to him. The man’s enlarged my mind. He’s a poet-warrior in the classic sense. I mean sometimes he’ll… uh… well, you’ll say “hello” to him, right? And he’ll just walk right by you. He won’t even notice you. And suddenly he’ll grab you, and he’ll throw you in a corner, and he’ll say, “do you know that ‘if’ is the middle word in life? If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you, if you can trust yourself when all men doubt you”… I mean I’m no, I can’t… I’m a little man, I’m a little man, he’s… he’s a great man. I should have been a pair of ragged claws scuttling across floors of silent seas…

Icarus February 25, 2009 at 3:26 pm

Thanks Dash. I needed that.

Hopefully it will prevent me from being so vituperative for the next hour or so.

Dash Riptide February 25, 2009 at 3:32 pm

It’s nice to be nice to the nice.

Kellie February 25, 2009 at 4:28 pm

Dash
“The man’s enlarged my mind” and “he’ll throw you in a corner”

Words like that will get Jack excited! Try to tone it down next time. ;-)

Magic Jeff February 25, 2009 at 5:06 pm

Words like that will get Jack excited!

More like they made me laugh pretty hard. My friends, who are fans of The Who, have given me the nickname “Happy Jack”.

PROTEST BABES!!!!!

As the Instapundit has long noted, protests go better with protest babes. In fact, if I take him correctly, the arrival on the scene of protest babes indicates the protest is about to be a huge success.

So, if you’re a babe, and will be attending the protest, email me a tasteful picture, and you’ll be up in lights.

Remember, the protest is here:

Date: Friday, 27 February, 2009.
Time: 12:00 PM, high noon.
Place: The Georgia Capitol Building – look for the gold dome.

C’mon, protest babes, email me! I’ll make you famous!

UPDATE: Though not Norwegian, I will also accept pictures of Protest Goats. “Chacun a son goat”, as the cheese-eating surrender monkeys might say.

When it comes to protests like these, here’s where the left REALLY has the advantage. I’d LOVE to participate in this tomorrow, but like most us on the right, I have a job.

Kellie February 27, 2009 at 3:36 pm

There was a good turn out even with all the rain!

debbie0040 February 27, 2009 at 3:41 pm

Great turnout considering the pouring rain. When I got the permit, I listed 50 as the turnout. We never imagined it would snowball like it did.

My favorite sign from the protest:

I loved the sign about the toliet. Well done and creative.

Reports have started coming in about Nationwide Tea Party protests

Kellie February 27, 2009 at 5:03 pm

debbie
I was standing behind the “bimbo and himbo”. My friend had the ‘Bail Outs Stink’ umbrella. Mine read ‘Government doesn’t create jobs’ and ‘Government – Get Out of my Way’.
There were several Atlas Shrugged signs. I am happy to say, I finished reading it yesterday.

debbie0040 February 27, 2009 at 5:14 pm

cool!! Wasn’t it fun? Get ready for another one!!

IndyInjun February 27, 2009 at 6:04 pm

Each one will be bigger….as things get worse at the hands of DemGopidiots………time will come to break out the pitchforks – the electoral ones, of course….
