Nevermind.

It turns out the first crime against the Obama Regime might not have happened the way we were told.

Authorities say a Forsyth County woman is now suspected of setting a fire that destroyed her home last month and that she claimed derailed her plans to attend the presidential inaugural.

The Jan. 18 fire near Cumming gained notoriety when the homeowner told investigators she was a supporter of President Obama and had gone to Washington D.C. to attend the inauguration. Racially charged graffiti was sprayed on a fence near the home.

Investigators arrested the homeowner Pamela Graf and her boyfriend late Tuesday, while executing a search warrant as part of their investigation into the Jan. 18 fire, said Steve Anderson, chief of investigations for the Forsyth County Fire Department.

“She is a suspect,” Anderson said today , “I look for something to be coming in the next day or two.”

“We were in search of fruits of the crime of arson,” the chief said. He declined to discuss specifics.

So does this mean it’s actually a crime against the Republicans?

Taft Republican February 4, 2009 at 2:33 pm

HATE CRIME! HATE CRIME! HATE CRIME!

Except that means she hated herself… what are the extra penalties assessed for that?

Idiots.

Kellie February 4, 2009 at 2:37 pm

I think it means she hated her mortgage.

Bill Simon February 4, 2009 at 2:37 pm

That is freaking hilarious. Reminds me of Tawny Brawley incident with Al Sharpton many years ago.

atlantaman February 4, 2009 at 2:43 pm

Taft-

That’s actually a great point. If she burned down the house claiming there was racial graffiti, shouldn’t she still be charged for a hate crime? There has to be some sort of reverse hatred here.

odinseye2k February 4, 2009 at 3:02 pm

Maybe not a hate crime, but should definitely add on a degree or two of reporting false crimes to the authorities on top of the insurance fraud.

Bill Simon February 4, 2009 at 3:05 pm

I think she’d now be perfect as a nominee to some position in the Obama Administration. I’m sure she just made an “honest mistake” just like Tom Daschle did when he forgot to disclose income for which he was required to pay $140,000 in back taxes.

white trash February 4, 2009 at 3:08 pm

Bill
I have decided to stop paying my taxes so I can position myself for a Senate run. ;-)

Bill Simon February 4, 2009 at 3:10 pm

As long as you apologize when you are caught, Kellie, that is all that matters. You can still get elected.

Of course, if you are caught not paying the nanny taxes, 10 years in jail, minimum.

white trash February 4, 2009 at 3:17 pm

I’ll have my nanny deported before I run. ;-)

Chris February 4, 2009 at 3:19 pm

Tawny Brawley was the first thing that came to mind when I heard the story.

white trash February 4, 2009 at 3:21 pm

Did you see the pisture of her? She looks crazy. I wonder if I can make her my gravatar.

Buzz Brockway February 4, 2009 at 3:37 pm

The first thing that came to my mind was that nut who said a black guy wearing an Obama shirt carved a “b” in her cheek.

white trash February 4, 2009 at 3:40 pm

I forgot about her.

LoyaltyIsMyHonor February 4, 2009 at 4:05 pm

This is actually Sad……No wonder white people collective roll their eyes every time a brothah claims racism.

Taft Republican February 4, 2009 at 4:05 pm

Kellie, just shrink this down to size:

But does it have the same effect if you can’t see her eyes clearly?

boyreporter February 4, 2009 at 4:59 pm

It’s Tawana, not Tawny. Not that it matters.
Any old excuse will do to scratch the old racial itch. Usually Erick starts the ball rolling on race-baiting, but he doesn’t always have to with so many willing foot-soldiers hereabouts.

white trash February 4, 2009 at 5:08 pm

I thought it was rouge who usually started it. ;-)

DaleC February 4, 2009 at 5:13 pm

You guys should have seen how all the “tolerant” libs at Creative Loafing blog savaged me when I suggested something similar when the Obama mural in L5P was vandalized.

Boyreporter – thank you for finding bigotry where there is none

rugby February 4, 2009 at 5:40 pm

The thing about the innocent until guilty canard is that I wonder how often the Republicans and conservatives now feeling smug would apply such a belief.

I would guess, only when it won’t hurt their political leanings.

And that’s exactly what Democrats and liberals do to.

boyreporter February 4, 2009 at 6:23 pm

Rugby, stop trying to be so even-handed. You make a good point, then weaken it by saying something close to “everyone does it.” No, they don’t.

Bill Simon February 5, 2009 at 12:21 am

Boy,

You’re an idiot. Truly. We aren’t the ones “race-baiting.” The idiot who claimed her house was burned down because she had an Obama sign is THE RACE BAITER.

rugby February 5, 2009 at 8:57 am

“No, they don’t.”

That’s bulls*it and you know it.

“The idiot who claimed her house was burned down because she had an Obama sign is THE RACE BAITER.”

Actually it turns out she wasn’t baiting race (baiting racism?), she was just being an idiot.

boyreporter February 5, 2009 at 1:23 pm

Rugby: No, I don’t. Look at the record. Some wander into an unfortunate field while others plow it, plant it and try to reap discord from it. There’s a difference in being imperfect and deliberately setting Social Darwinism as your “take” (pun intended) on life.

Game Fan February 7, 2009 at 9:41 am

Yeah
This had all the indications of some phony baloney. Cumming GA. Formerly for “Whites only”. And there’s an Obama supporter in their midst. Oh Noes. And that march with Oprah was classic. And it had all the necessary ingredients to really get people riled up. Rebel flags, David Duke, Klansmen, Black Panthers. “In a show with everything but Yule Brenner”.
