Georgia Detention Watch has now joined Atlantans Building Leadership for Empowerment and the Concerned Black Clergy in favor of a lawless society where some actions have no consequences and they have demanded that a program to deport illegal immigrants from the Gwinnett County jail should be stopped.
Yes, boo hoo for people who knowingly entered another country illegally.
Jail officials estimate that about 60 percent of the 14,084 foreign nationals that were booked into the Gwinnett jail in 2008 were here illegally.
Louise Stewart of Norcross was quoted in the article: “I have absolutely nothing against immigrants if they come here and obey the law the way they are supposed to,” Stewart said. Indeed, Ms. Stewart, indeed. These people haven’t done so and must get the boot.
Side note: Atlantans Building Leadership for Empowerment is the Atlanta branch of the Gamaliel Foundation where this guy got his start.
[UPDATE] The AP also has a follow-up story on how many components of recently passed legislation designed to fight illegal immigration in Georgia are going largely unenforced.

Rogue-the side note is funny. The name for the foundation is really interesting.
