If you have a problem with coarse language or believe that alcohol shouldn’t be sold on Sunday, I wouldn’t recommend watching it.

Dear God man,
That thing is a half hour long.
Care to summarize, or is the one word title summary enough?
Summary: Recycling is bullshit.
welcome to peachpundit, where copyright infringement is welcomed!
I give that an “A” for awesome!
What has been infringed? Is there a statement somewhere that says the show shall not be re-broadcast w/o the express written permission?
What I find funny is that the “Native American” actor is actually of Italian decent. just about as real as the whole recycling thing.

I forgot to post his bio.
well I checked with my local government and the results are as follows:
ATHENS-CLARKE COUNTY SOLID WASTE DEPARTMENT
RECYCLING DIVISION
ANNUAL REPORT
FISCAL YEAR 2008
(JULY 1, 2007 – JUNE 30, 2008)
I. RECOVERED MATERIALS PROCESSING FACILITY
The following provides tonnage and cost information for recycled materials delivered to the Athens-Clarke County Recovered Materials Processing Facility for the period noted above.
Bottles & Cans 3,583.65 tons
Mixed Paper 11,196.41 tons
Total Tons 14,780.06 tons Average Tons Per Month 1,231.67
Processing Fees $568,409.25
Revenues $934,891.17*
Net Cost/(Profit) ($366,481.92)
What does the ” * ” mean? And wondering how the profitability breaks down per/material. Not sure why they include glass and aluminum in the same heading. And why is a Penthouse magazine grouped in with the Athens Banner Herald? Which brings up the subject of shrinkage/employee theft.
* Athens-Clarke County has a revenue sharing arrangement built into our contract with FCR, Inc., the private RMPF operator. Athens-Clarke County pays a processing fee for each ton of recyclable material we deliver or cause to be delivered, to the RMPF. In return, we receive an 80% share of the revenues from the sale of the recyclable materials.
Aluminum and glass are the only profitable recylcung programs. Including them in is a way to cover for the fact all of the other is a waste of time.
It is like saying buying scratch off lottery tickets is a good source of income because net income from the lottery plus your paycheck is a positive value.
Bill, in the closing credits. Fortunately, the poster of the video cut the recording off so the notice is not shown, so that makes it a-ok!
What does this have to do with Georgia?
Also, the P&T episode was also kinda bullshit, because it used hinky stats and also some funky assumptions.
Basically, yes, recycling is not necessary at this point. We can just throw everything away. We also put forth a lot of resources to recycle, which perhaps we’d rather put elsewhere.
But it’s not bad to recycle, and it’s not a bad thing that municipal governments at times profit from recycling. It’s also likely that the costs associated with recycling will go down as we refine our techniques.
