Having Mentioned This Before

Let me mention it again: I will reiterate that Roy Barnes is lining up support to run for Governor again in 2010.

It makes perfect sense.

You’re going to have John Oxendine, Casey Cagle, and maybe Karen Handel. It’s going to be a knock down, drag out fight.

If Roy can unite the Democrats in a slate, they can crush the D’s.

Also, and I hate to say this, but I think it needs to be said objectively, the Democrats are going to seize on the fact that two of the three Republican candidates for Governor do not have college degrees.

A Republican pollster friend of mine from DC tells me that, while he has no knowledge of Georgia polling on this issue, in other places it seriously impacts the desire of upper middle class voters to support a candidate for high office.

It could, in fact, be a serious achilles heel for the GOP nominee if it is not Ox, unless someone has been working on a college degree in the past four years.

With all the ignorance shown on this thread

ignorance about what? this has seemed like a pretty coherent thread compared to some…

i would assume if daddy roy is planing a comeback, he would be putting plenty of pressure on folks like porter to stay put and not get in his way, of course w/ poythress running already, he’ll be a tough nut to crack, but would also assume daddy roy is confident in his ability to dispatch the general, if he won’t step aside gracefully…

I’m still confused about Nancy Schaefer…. :(

Dr. Jay,

I wonder if Dec meant to ask if we were wasted while we were getting our college degrees. I went to UGA. Draw your own conclusions.

Loyalty,

So is anyone who has ever met her.

“So is anyone who has ever met her.”

Don’t make this thread become about your mother.

Icarus December 18, 2008 at 11:02 am

I wouldn’t do that.

After all, we both know how jealous your mother gets.

rugby fan December 18, 2008 at 11:14 am

Not nearly as jealous as your mother over Tech’s victory, higher ranking, and better bowl game.

Goodetimes,

Welcome to the Pundit.

Many folks probably missed your comment (1st comments are held in moderation, then put up in the order at the time it was originally posted.)

But as for that steak dinner, I’m pretty sure Debbie will be willing to take that bet.

Good luck with that.

” North GA Indy, what is your obsession with OX?

The guy is completely insane….not that that’s a bad thing actually….but really, are you on his campaign?”

Ox and I support the FairTax. I would either join his campaign, David Shafer’s, or Brian Kemp’s.

Icarus December 18, 2008 at 12:06 pm

Stick with Ox. I want the other two to win.

LoyaltyIsMyHonor December 18, 2008 at 12:15 pm

Ahhhh…the FairTax….

Reminds me of Axl asking, “What’s so civil about war anyway?”

Taft Republican December 18, 2008 at 1:10 pm

Axl Rose said that?

LoyaltyIsMyHonor December 18, 2008 at 2:11 pm

The one and only…quoting Axl Rose is always a crowd pleaser, don’t you think…even Obama has quoted him recently.

Icarus December 18, 2008 at 2:12 pm

Axl Rose is popular in all 57 states.

LoyaltyIsMyHonor December 18, 2008 at 3:03 pm

58 states, you left out State of Insanity

Icarus December 18, 2008 at 3:04 pm

Oh dear. How could I forget my native land.

North Ga Indy December 18, 2008 at 6:14 pm

Icarus, you’re too funny.

If Herman Cain runs for anything, it would likely be a head-to-head against Isakson.

Icarus December 18, 2008 at 8:54 pm

Because that worked out so well for him last time…

GOPeach December 19, 2008 at 12:37 am

Isakson is not running for governor. Herman Cain will run for governor and I believe he will absolutely be a force to be reckoned with. He could be the new face for the GOP in Georgia. We need to EDUCATE Obama’s base and let them see how to REALLY VOTE!

GOPeach December 19, 2008 at 12:39 am

It is a NEW DAY — some of us know this.

Icarus December 19, 2008 at 12:55 am

58th STATE in the HOUSE!!!!!
