That is a good line atlman. Tom price cares not about liberty. He just wants to be correct. He has sold his soul for a cause that has betrayed this country and wants nothing more than to be right about one thing...regardless how many people die or lose their livelihoods as consequence.

As his former opponent has put it: Tom Price believes government does not work...then he goes to Washington and proves it.

Price only cares about self fulfilling his prophecies.

You mean Barnie "yuck mouth" Frank? As a "Paulista" I've gotten used to just criticizing some of the "top dogs" on both sides while trying to appeal to some Dems rather than getting involved with the Democrats' "internal affairs". :) And until recently the "top dog" for the Dems was Hillary. :)

Atlanta,

I have more than a 'clue.'

The early Price was a Bushite, meaning he was not a conservative, by any means.

The RSC was supposed to represent the fiscal conservatives, but too many times subjugated its principles to the corrupt Bush gang.

Do the people negatively commenting on Price's chairmanship even have a clue what the RSC is?

If it's a conservative organization, then it would likely have a conservative chair.

“The Best Little Whore House in DC”. I think Barney Frank has cornered that name for his dwelling...

Tom Price will do a good job in this leadership position. He helped lead the charge against the bailout and Amnesty Immigration Bill. I think the House can successfully lead the GOP out of the wilderness.

After so many years of Bush/Clinton/Bush they could also rename the White House. (no I don't do racial politics) But one thing does come to mind: "The Best Little Whore House in DC".

JK,

Price has shown improvement recently. Unlike Saxby, he actually has seen the light and might continue to be salveageable from his earlier practice, perfected by Saxby, of having his nose up Bush's ass.

His party has kicked me in the teeth and I won't support it monetarily, with time or money any more.

Maybe John Konop should consider running again. His reasoned opinions on Peach Pundit always have a dose of common sense in them.

There were some good things that came from the McCain/Palin campaign such as the "Country first" theme as well as her connection with Native Americans in Alaska, and the whole "outside the beltway/Joe the plumber" idea. And if Republicans take a strong stand against high taxes regulations and socialism the party can salvage it's identity perhaps.

When it comes to economics we agree on must topics. Yet to not note the difference between Tom Price and Saxby Chambliss would be disingenuous.

Progressive,

Game has it right.

Price and the other corporatists are NOT conservatives.

The RSC members once were heroes of the conservative movement, but even Pense and Hensarling capitulated so many time to Bush that they no longer have any credibility.

A GOP that forces a Saxby Chambliss down my throat is not a party I will support AT ANY LEVEL any longer.

Price is the poster boy on the House side of why the GOP will shrink to nothingness. Georgia and the other backward states that still have that party in the majority will be starved of power and money, until the voters here see the light.

A GOP as currently constituted is no longer needed when the Blue Dogs on the Dem side are better protectors of the public interest.

If Republicans want to really connect with real conservatism they would have to throw the lobbyists out the window. Of course the "fiscal reality" of DC politics is always there. But what's interesting to witness is the Democrats trying to morph into some type of corporate liberal party. Perhaps we've already seen the beginning of this with the larger moneyed interests flocking to Obama and away from McCain. And don't be fooled by the number of "lobbyist bundlers" for Obama and McCain. Many think there's more to that story. Tony Rezko is just the tip of the iceberg with the Obama crowd. He's been a lobbyist for Republicans too. And maybe this is the reason the Republican status quo doesn't wish to dig too deep here.

In fairness to Tom Price he has tighten up his fiscal voting record since I ran against him. Tom now will not take earmarks and was very outspoken about the bio fuel scam in the Farm bill. He also has changed his position on the failed No Child Left Behind bill. And finally Tom supported the Romney concept of mandatory pay health care system. While the Massachusetts system has issues we cannot have a system that promotes people not to pay and use emergency rooms as a primary doctor. And I am sure we can improve the concept.

I am sure Tom and I still disagree on some issues, but overall I think he is doing a good job representing the 6th district.

Tom Price at the "power center" is, indeed, great news for Democrats and other progressives. It's like have a dead AA battery as the power center of your flashlight. Republicans just can't help their self-inflicted wounds habit. And that's good for the country.

It's great news if you are a partisan Democrat. Tom Price doesn't know how to help the GOP widen their base. The trends that began in the 2006 Congressional elections and continued with 25 fewer seat after the 2008 election are still going to be in place until the GOP changes direction. The GOP used to be comprised of moderates and liberals as well as conservatives. The GOP is rapidly becoming a party of southern conservatives, and nothing more. Congratulations to Karl Rove on the successful culmination of Nixon's Southern Strategy.
