Clarke, Madison, and Oglethorpe Schools Have Their Priorities Straight

No School today.

Tired of struggling to find enough teachers to staff its classrooms on the Friday before the annual Georgia-Florida football game, the Clarke County (Ga.) School District — which includes Athens, home of the University of Georgia — decided to cancel school altogether.

Got to love the dedication of those teachers.

School systems plan their calendar and the state approves their plan in February and March of the previous school year. Don’t believe everything you read on the internet. Doing so will make you look foolish.

Here is a link to the Clarke county school calendar for this year which shows Friday October 31 was a planned holiday.

Starting next year, they should not only have school on Ga-Fla. Friday, but they should fire any teacher who didn’t produce a doctor’s note.

Of course, we have to keep in mind that these are already teachers who can’t spell “Dog”…
