Sen. Ted Stevens Found Guilty on All Counts in Federal Corruption Case

I don’t care about 60 or not. I want this guy to spend the rest of his miserable life in pound-him-in-the-xxx federal prison.

He should feel right at home there, after spending so much time on the pound-us-in-the-xxx Appropriations Committee.

If Stevens had cared out his State and it’s citizens he would have stepped aside and let someone else fill the position. Of course if he had cared about Alaska’s citizens he wouldn’t have been corrupt.

But what does this have to do with the Georgia Gang?

shep1975 October 27, 2008 at 4:01 pm

Buzz, Stevens did have primary opposition.

Jane October 27, 2008 at 4:19 pm

I hope he dies in Prison. Behavior that brings disrepute to the party is punishable by Dunga or worse Death by Dunga.

Buzz Brockway October 27, 2008 at 4:28 pm

Shep,

Then shame on the voters in Alaska.

Chris October 27, 2008 at 4:32 pm

Did Stevens have primary opposition or are you thinking about Young (another SOB I’d like to see die in prison) who was challenged by Palin’s Lt. Governor?

Chris October 27, 2008 at 4:33 pm

Shame on the Republicans of Georgia for not even attempting to run someone against Saxby.

Redstate does the right thing.

sickfreak October 27, 2008 at 4:41 pm

Redstate is down. Stevens must have clogged the series of tubes as he was leaving the courthouse.

shep1975 October 27, 2008 at 4:45 pm

Stevens did have primary opposition. Guy was a former State Senator.

shep1975 October 27, 2008 at 4:50 pm

Looking at the primary results, there were 6 candidates opposing Stevens in the GOP primary. I guess only one would have been a serious candidate in that he got more votes than the other losers combined, but Stevens still got 63.5% while under indictment.

Good riddance. Should have been purged in 2006.

John Douglas October 27, 2008 at 8:51 pm

If the election plays out as it may, look for Sarah Palin to be the next US Senator from Alaska.

atlantaman October 28, 2008 at 7:07 am

Good call Senator Douglas.

This makes Saxby’s race even more important now.

Chris October 28, 2008 at 7:36 am

I’m not sure how you get there Senator.

More than likely, Sen. Stevens will not win his re-election. If the kind of miracle that needs occur to for him to win, then Governor Palin will be President of the Senate.

Now, she has taken down one Murkoswki, so she could go after the next one in 2 or 4 years. But that wouldn’t make her the next Senator. That person will most likely be a Democrat

Progressive Dem October 28, 2008 at 11:06 am

The era of George Bush and Sarah Palin has passed. The GOP and conservatism will not assend again with an empty suit.

IndyInjun October 28, 2008 at 11:38 am

Atlanta -

Yeah. Saxby’s race is even more important to the DC con men, thieves, liars, and Wall Street fraudsters now that their main man, Stevens, is gone.

Anyone who votes for Saxby Chambliss has either no sense or no principles, like the Alaska GOP that defeated opposition for Stevens.

Putting the GOP first is just rotten.

I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that the GOP is just plain corrupt.

If Saxby ends up in a run-off, he ends up because he champions crooks who have stolen from every working American.
