If they think it’s bad now they should have been there in the fall of 1967. There were only 100 coeds total. Tech had to import majorettes and cheerleaders. This lead to much “birddogging” the Atlanta area high school girls who would drive through campus looking for a fraternity party. I guess they don’t do that anymore?

I went to UGA. Sorry, can’t relate. it was 52-48 women over men when I was there. I’ve heard the ratio is now 55-45.

Well I’ve been cringing lately as talk radio has ran this Reverend Wright thing and the William Ayers thing into the ground. But I really think there’s an issue with his birth certificate. McCain supplied his birth certificate and Obama hasn’t. Man I love these open threads!

2 things about the Obama birth certificate:

1) If it were true, wouldn’t the Clintons have nuked him with it and knocked him out of the race?

2) Philip J. Berg, Esquire is a 9/11 Truther nutjob who said this:

NOW you are relying on other people performing the right “background research?”

I point you to a recent incident in Georgia Tech’s past…namely that of one George O’Leary, for whom it was PRESUMED for many years that his resume was 100% accurate in reference to him graduating from Notre Dame.

The lesson learned is, you should NEVER rely on someone else doing the proper research before you. Don’t presume the Clintons had smart enough researchers to do the background research….because thta relies on you ASSuming something that may be incorrect.

NO WHERE IN LAW DOES IT SAY “NATURAL BORN” MEANS YOU HAVE TO BE BORN ON US SOIL!!!!

Get over it.

Barack is a U.S. citizen. He has always been a U.S. citizen. And just because he may have been a citizen of another nation does not negate his U.S. citizenship.

Berg is a nutcase and this is all a waste of time. Stop wasting your time on conspiracy theories.

Funny thing about “law”…it is open to interpretation. Sorta like…college diplomas, actually. JUST because a diploma from UGA was discovered in your car that does not mean you actually attended classes and took any tests. You could have just been a good driver to catch the diploma in your back window. :-)

Bill, actually, there was one time when the Congress defined the meaning of “natural born” although the law has dropped that phrase since then. This law was passed by the first Congress in 1790. James Madison, who wrote most of the Constitution, was a member of this first Congress. The first citizenship law stated:

“The children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond sea, or outside the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural-born citizens of the United States.”

Buzz,

I think the citizenship thing is nuts as his mother was a citizen, but if Hillary wanted to help herself the most, she would wait until Obama won the election but before the electoral votes were cast or even before they were counted.

Then, have some right wing group release the information and disqualify him. The electoral college would then have to vote on another candidate and Hillary would be the only Dem with any shot of a majority, so she would likely be the one they voted for. She would at least meat the Constitutional requirement of being in the top 3.

If she waited until after they were cast but before they were counted, the House could still potentially select her, as she would be in a big tie for third at zero votes. Biden would not assume the Presidency unless no President was elected.

If I was her and I was concerned more about myself than the country, and had the goods on him, I might just wait until after the electoral ballots are made. Then “defend” Obama against the charges and maybe even admit that she had seen the evidence and that she was not convinced, while others brought him down.

Of course, all of this is moot, as it is a ridiculous claim.

I doubt there would be a court decision by the time the Electors met and cast their ballots. Assuming Obama won, and then was found to be disqualified, under the 20th Amendment, Biden would be sworn in as President.

But, like Doug said, it’s moot since it is a ridiculous claim.

If it was truly evidence that would get him bounced, he would either be forced to withdraw from consideration, the electors would become faithless so they aren’t stuck with President Joe, or the Supreme Court would hear the case in an emergency session like they did in 2000.

But as pretty much every reasonable person agrees, the claim is ridiculous and is making a number of closet cases look like desperate fools.

Both of McCains’s parents were US Citizens. Both of Obama’s are not. Berg is a Democrat that supported Hillary.

I thought there was nothing to it at first. But then Obama did not produce the long birth certificate to be examined and verified.
I am keeping and open mind on this now.
