No toll roads . . . yet

From the AJC:

A state committee Monday killed a private consortium’s $1.6 billion proposal to build optional toll lanes along Ga. 400.

The proposal would have built the lanes up to Ga. 20 in Cumming. Members who voted to kill it said they still supported privately funded toll lanes, but this proposal was flawed. A majority of committee members report to Gov. Sonny Perdue.

Sonny killed this toll road deal to show his new toll road business pals in Spain that he can deliver for them. Watch and see how Sonny changes course and helps the Spaniards get some toll road bidness in Georgia. Later after leaving office Sonny might just land a job with these fine Spanish folks.
