Cut Waste

Interesting to see this. Lt. Gov. Cagle is getting web savvy, more so that your typical Georgia politician.

His new site, cutwaste.org is designed to root out and end wasteful government spending, etc.

You really don’t see projects like this at the state level frequently. Kudos to him for taking the initiative.

I saw this stuff go on in Florida, except they were giving prize money away and what not for the best ideas. It’s crazy. You start getting government workers doing a lot of the whistleblower type stuff.

We’ll probably find out in the next week or so that there are 10 government buildings out there that have had their water running and lights on since 1998.

    Good stuff.

It’s easy to have a web page, it’s what you do with it that makes a difference. Only time will tell if he actually follows through on the waste.

Didn’t Sonny already cover this ground with his Commission for a New Georgia?

This effort looks more like a gimmick to get his face/name on television.

    a good start; cagle resigns.

yes we should all congratulate casey cagle for announcing his 2010 Gov’s race. Kudos.

Prediction-This site, which is already 2 weeks old will release a token find on a slow news day to generate headlines for an ad to run in April of 2010.

WAKE UP Cagle is just running for govenor and using state funds to promote himself! is FACE and name are all over the site and the TV ads. If he was really interested in waste, this would look alot diffrent! Come on, you guys are not this stupid are you?

  7. tb says:

Unfortunately, in my county people won’t whistleblow because they’ll lose their job, but I hope there will be a few stand up people that do whistleblow.

  8. Progressive Dem says:

These better not be State dollars??? If so, isn’t this exactly what Republicans complained about when Cathy Cox ran commercials advertising the services of the Secretary of State?

  9. kcordell says:

I think someone should blow the whistle on Cagle getting legislation passed to make rendering plants immune from law suits while accepting donations from the chicken industry.

Next act. Cagle represented Gainesville and went to bat for the biggest employer in his city/county/region. Poultry is the biggest show in town up there. That’s what their known for.

What’s next, a Detroit congressman supporting legislation that helps the auto industry?

  11. Dantes says:

anyone who has dealt with cagle knows this guy is a real lightweight. Cutting waste out of state government….isn’t it his job to manage the budget process? isn’t that what we pay him to do? why does he need our help?

poor casey. he is in way over his head at the LG slot. He has no business even trying for governor.

  12. Bill Simon says:

Is there a “budget process” going on right now? AND…as I’ve been duly told many times, the budget originates from the Appropriations Committee in the State House.

  13. kcordell says:

Old Guy… The chickien industry is not the largest employer in Hall Count and hasn’t been for over a decade. It’s been nothing more than a jobs program for illegal aliens. Arkansas passed us long ago in poultry production.
