Bad Form

A friend tells me that HB 1112 took a voter’s birth date off the voter file.

That’s insane. The data is amazingly helpful in targeting likely voters, etc.

Hold on to your pre-existing voter registration files. You’re going to need them.

That is definitely how I read it. Really strange.

    SECTION 8.
Said title is further amended by revising subsection (b) of Code Section 21-2-225, relating to limitations on registration data available for public inspection, as follows:
“(b) All data collected and maintained on electors whose names appear on the list of electors maintained by the Secretary of State pursuant to this article shall be available for public inspection with the exception of bank statements submitted pursuant to subsection (c) of Code Section 21-2-220 and subsection (c) of Code Section 21-2-417, and the date of birth, the social security numbers, and driver´s license numbers of the electors, and the locations at which the electors applied to register to vote, which shall remain confidential and shall be used only for voter registration purposes; provided, however, that any and all information relating to the dates of birth, social security numbers, and driver´s license numbers of electors may be made available to other state agencies if the agency is authorized to maintain such information by social security number and the information is used only to identify the elector on the receiving agency´s data base and is not disseminated further and remains confidential.”

Blame it on credit granting companies who used SS# and Birth Date as a means of identification, instead of actually doing any kind of due diligence in the identity verification process.
They created the identity theft monster, and expect everyone to pay, instead of changing the way they do things.

So this means that you have to work harder to put stuff in my mailbox that I immediately transfer to the trash. Just quit sending me stuff I don’t want, and I will promise to start feeling sorry for you.

  4. Bill Simon says:

And, exactly HOW do “they” know what you like and don’t like?

After all, you don’t like to answer phone polls. You don’t return mail with surveys in them. When walking through the airport you duck and flip the survey team over your shoulder when they approach you.

So…answer your own question for us, won’t you?

  5. joe says:

It is real simple. What I like is truth, pure truth, and nothing but the truth. Tell me the last time you saw (or sent) that in any mailer.
