“It really wasn’t even close,” said Gary McCoy, the Macon Water Authority’s director of water operations. “It’s a big honor to be chosen.”

After winning a district competition in March, Macon’s water went up against samples from the eight other districts statewide, including those from Barnesville, Albany, Dalton and Savannah.

Next up: a trip to San Diego in May, with a chance to take the big title during the American Water Works Association’s international finals.

Is there any truth to the rumor that a certain councilman (who may or may not have been sworn in) is promoting a new slogan for the water department?

    “yeah, I’d tap this water”

Of course this makes sense. Why else would truckers be stopping in Macon at the Spas unless it was to sample the waters?

The whole thing was probably rigged. I’m crying fowl.
