Looking to pickup jobs from VW plant in Tennessee

With Volkswagen’s announcement of building a $1 billion assembly plant by 2011 in Chattanooga, Northwest Georgia is scrambling to entice the company to consider it as a possible location for any of its anticipated supply facilities.

Jeff Mullis, director of the Northwest Georgia Joint Development Authority, is all giggly about the potential. Full story and video here from the Catoosa County News.

    The plant being in TN a dozen miles from GA is better than it being in GA a dozen miles from TN.

    Alabama will reap a quarter or more of the overall economic benefits of the West Point Kia plant though Georgia provides 100% of the $400M in tax breaks.
