Judge Blitch is not listed in the indictment posted on the US Attorney’s website for this case. Maybe he has worked out a deal that could include having his wife go to jail, now that she is no longer in the legislature.

Max Wood, the Republican U. S. Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia, has spent millions of taxpayer dollars chasing down an elderly Superior Court Judge who has never taken a dime in illegal payoffs. I just read the indictment and all it says is that Judge Blitch was in a conspiracy to abuse his position. No illegal payoffs or free cars, etc. that had been rumored. This same Judge’s wife was a Democratic State Senator. At the same time, Max Wood has ignored powerful evidence of Republican corruption on the part of Governor Sonny Perdue and his pals…Oakey Woods, DisneyWorld land deals, and illegal tax legislation, etc. Maybe this has something to do with the fact that Sonny Perdue lobbied President Bush to appoint his pal Max to the Federal prosecutor’s job, and Bush subsequently granted Sonny the favor of having a partisan friend in his home district as the Federal prosecutor. Sonny then was comfortably insulated from Federal legal scrutiny. Fortunately for the interests of justice, Max Wood will soon be gone as the US Attorney and a new Democrat-appointed prosecutor can set the scales of justice back to a level base. Note to Sonny…the 5 year statute of limitations might very well bite you in the butt. (Of course, if McCain gets elected, Sonny will skate free with his pockets full of illegal cash.) So count on Sonny to campaign fervently for McCain this fall. Sonny’s freedom depends on a McCain victory in November.
