Dale Cardwell promptly endorsed Jim Martin today.
Those of you who have speculated that Cardwell would not endorse Martin because he dislikes Martin failed to appreciate how much more Cardwell dislikes Jones.

I’m actually surprised. Didn’t know he had it in him. Then again, dude knows stuff about Snuggles that even we don’t know. And I bet it’s not nice stuff either.

SpaceyG: Exactly.

Not surprising except the fact that Dale correctly pointed out several negatives of Jim’s record during the debates and highlighted his failures. Also, this is slap in the face for everything Dale claimed he ran on because he has now endorsed THE candidate who’s campaign is funded, supported and run by special interest and PAC money.
What a hypocritical position to take, but that sums up his campaign I guess.

So, Mike.
Are you going to support Martin, or are you going to keep working for Vernon?
You know, Vernon can not beat Saxby and he will only hurt democrats up and down the ballot.

GoldCon, so what? McCain can’t beat Obama and he will only hurt Republicans up and down the ballot, but the Georgia GOP leadership is still gushing over him like he’s another Ronald Reagan. (When he’s actually another Bob Dole.)

Cardwell told numerous people on multiple occasions that Jim Martin could not defeat Saxby. He claimed that he alone could due to his massive statewide name ID, his new brand of politics and freedom from special interest PAC money. Along the way he blamed Martin for the deaths of those children while at DHR, and went after him every chance he could with his investigative journalistic zeal. This change of tune shows him to be just another politician out for publicity and personal aggrandizement.
In his efforts change his image from a lazy johnny come lately to anointed formidable candidate, Martin told folks that he would raise and spend 2.5 million dollars in the Primary and another 5 million in the general. He came nowhere close to those figures and came in a disappointing second to Vernon Jones.
The criticism of Dale is fair, but most of it should be reserved for Jim Martin.

Martin probably can not win. He does not hurt other democrats though.

Looks like someone updated already.

These two are going to have to spend every dime they have to win this run off. Whoever wins is going to have a hard time raising money to beat Saxby especially with Obama eating up all the money.
