Thanks for the link! It is nice when someone notices...

Sometimes I wonder if I should have started a food blog instead. At least I wouldn't stay so frustrated with political morons, but local AND national.

For those looking for a good lunch (and who isn't these days) on the west side of downtown, did you know that Thumbs Up is opening a new location on Marietta St., just east of the Northside Drive intersection? Last I heard, possibly late August. Doubt it will put a dent in Carver's business, but more options are always nice, especially as gas prices soar.

@Icarus, anyone who does NOT take the time to read the so-called longer 'geek bit' you posted, is NOT doing themselves a favor.

Great post, keep up the goof humor and good work.

@Erick My manners this 6:04AM were tacky --

Thank you for posting the audio of Albert Chambers message, warts and all. I came HERE FIRST, knowing the NEWS would BE HERE. No, not anywhere else but HERE.

I put these two topics together, on purpose. One premise of the 'geek-bit' is globally people are now in tune with events via the 'net. In real time, we are now a forming opinions ('buzz') based on real time info. Lots of books on this now.

Much like the implication of EVERY major new innovation in the 20th century could not predicted, so too, the implication of the 'net are largely unknown.

The 'net spells may spell an end to a lot of political foolishness, people can connect, get the 'buzz' and VOTE. Or, it opens a Pandora's Box of new foolery.

Grave responsiblilty or graven misuse?

Is the 'net accurate, who put the story out there, and since there are no 'mastheads', who is the voice responsible for the message?

Anonymous and deadly, or accurate and known?

Witness Dunwoody: (sorry, but great example)

Focused, dedicated, tech savvy groups (Citizens FOR Dunwoody, Dun/North, The Crier) have shown all of us that they can push their position in a coordinated and seemingly effective manner.

In the past we saw, print news outlets and political machines (Tamminy Hall [sp]) doing this work. The process has evolved, exactly as the 'geek bit' describes to the 'net, a few corporate owners of virtually ALL TV/Cable news-a-tainment shows.

Read the article, Icarus softpedalled it, very illuminating stuff.

VOTE JULY 15

VOTE No to MORE Gov't and HIGHER taxes.
