I've thumbed through enough Playboy Magazines to be able to recognize when a picture has been airbrushed so as to smooth over the imperfections. So I'm looking at this picture and thinking "airbrush".

I think the problem is her ruling is not based on any law or regulation. She just decided that there should be some sort of rule about CO2 emissions and acted out. I bet she felt real good about herself when she got home.

The power company followed every rule and regulation in order to get the permit. I'm sure they're doing everything they're supposed to and a little more.

I actually feel bad for the stinkin utility.

Once again, a member of the legal profession stretches far beyond their knowledge and expertise to come to a conclusion based on crap.

We have a Judge that is only looking to make a name for herself. If she was in contact with the people in Fulton County that are being hurt now and will see alot more this winter do to fuel cost along with the cost of everything, health care, food and everything we buy maybe she would not be making decisions that are out of her paygrade or wisdom. Coal is needed and is cleaner that the past plants that were built. If you are going to make a decision have a solution.

So can the Judicial Qualifications board fire this whack-job?

It is clear we need to appoint and not elect judges, or perhaps limit the scope and jurisdiction of the self-important peons that act as Superior Court judges so they cannot act singlehandedly to overturn state law and policy.

This is something that should require at least the Court of Appeals and more than one judge making the decision.

I made a belated post on the nuclear issue that has some relevance to this coal issue:

http://www.peachpundit.com/2008/06/27/hooray-for-nuclear-power/#comments

In a nutshell there is no perfect solution and like an investment portfolio we need to stay diversified. Our decisions are 30 to 40 years in nature.

Some environmentalists speak about nebulous clean and economical forms of energy, but I've never seen them. Solar power and wind power technology is no where near being able to supply our state's baseload capacity needs, hopefully someday it will be. Plus, under current technology, you're talking about doubling or tripling rates under wind and solar.
