Barrow, Barack, and Regina

The left is quite angry at John Barrow for, well, let the Boy from Brazil tell you:

Blue Dog Rep. John Barrow of Georgia has been one of the most enthusiastic enablers of the radical and lawless policies of the Bush administration. When running for re-election, he ran ads accusing his own party of wanting to “cut and run in Iraq,” and was one of the 21 Blue Dogs to send a letter to Nancy Pelosi demanding that they be allowed to vote for the Rockefeller/Cheney Senate bill to give warrantless eavesdropping powers to the President and amnesty to lawbreaking telecoms.

As a result of all of that, Barrow faces a serious primary challenge in July from State Senator Regina Thomas, who decided to run against Barrow due to — as she told Howie Klein when she announced — “Barrow’s failure to support his constituents against the encroachments of powerful Big Business interests.”

Greenwald is hacked off now because Barack Obama has cut a commercial endorsing John Barrow on the eve of Congress passing a FISA compromise with telecom immunity.

  1. GOP Girl says:

Alot of press today in the SMN on Regina vs. Barrow.

I tried to tell steelfist that there was more to this race that meets the eye. 🙂

  2. Icarus says:

I went to the Savannah Morning News website, and all I discovered is that there is a Pearl Vision Center opening in Pooler.

What’s up between Barrow and Thomas?

  3. Goldwater Conservative says:

Icarus, I would imagine that he is feeling very lonely. Regina Thomas is a political opportunist and a shallow individual. John Barrow happens to be one of my favorite Congressman in GA so I may seem a little biased, but I personally think that Thomas saw Obama’s candidacy as an oppurtunity to get promoted. I think Obama is an incredible candidate and would make a great president, but I also think Regina Thomas is running because she is black. That is the only thing that she has going for her.
